I know, I am late to Reset BUT AT LEAST I AM HERE NOW!! I want to thank the person who made me drop everything and binge this before I started any other dramas I was going to start. Reset is a REALLY quick watch and you can watch it on VIKI - at least where I am in the world. Have you watched this drama yet? Have you heard of this drama?
*Now as per usual with any review I write, I will not be including any spoilers in this review.*
A QUICK SYNOPSIS OF RESET - 2 people board a bus and the bus ends up in a horrible accident. The main characters die and think that is the end. Why do they wake up the next day and go through the process all over again? what does it mean? What are they supposed to do?
Overall, I LOVED THIS DRAMA! I am not surprised that I loved this drama so much. The drama is something that I would most definitely click play on and watch. I feel like this is a good drama to introduce someone to Chinese dramaland and draw them in to check out more dramas. It had good pacing and kept me on my toes. A VERY ENTERTAINING DRAMA! If you like action, crime, nail biting plot - THIS DRAMA IS FOR YOU!
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THIS DRAMA
THE ACTING - I can't even put into words how good the acting is in this drama. I was just constantly amazed by the cast throughout the episodes of this drama. They acted so well with what was thrown at them story wise. I just thought it was going to be another action filled drama but since the story had depth, that meant the acting had depth. I totally got attached to the characters and the cast pulled off their characters so well.
THE OSTS - I love a good instrumental in a drama. The instrumental OST used in the drama's opening sequence and to build tension throughout the drama was addicting. I had to immediately find it on Youtube to listen to it over and over again. I still listen to it on a regular basis. The other OSTs add some nice color to the drama. I just think the OSTs for Reset fit the drama so well. THAT TITLE SEQUENCE IS MY FAVORITE THOUGH!
THE STORY - If you are a fan of action or crime drama, YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS DRAMA! The story for Reset is just mind-blowing. It keeps you guessing. I always appreciate a drama where I can't predict the ending or what is even going to happen in the next episode. RESET PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS WITH ITS STORY! It was creative. The story touched you as a view both emotionally but also pulled you in with all of its twists and turns. You didn't know left from right at times but that kept it interesting. You honestly got a sense of being stuck on that bus yourself as a fellow passenger. Maybe that was what the drama was going for. Whatever it was - IT WORKED! I was invested and along for the WILD RIDE from start to finish.
THE PACING - Maybe it was because of the episode count or because of how the story was structured but I thought the pacing of Reset was GREAT! It didn't drag or put in filler scenes. You knew it had a path and it stuck to it. It has a tight story that left questions but in a good way. Maybe the pacing is why it was such an INTENSE drama to watch. There were times where I had to pause because I was SO STRESSED! 😂
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
THE ENDING - I did think that the ending was missing something. I have no idea what the ending was missing for me. It just seemed incomplete in some way. I can't tell you what could have been added or done differently for me to be satisfied with the ending. I still found the ending satisfying but I still thought it could have had one more thing to make it EVEN MORE satisfying. Again, I can't tell you what that one thing would have been or what could have changed with the ending as it was for me to find it EVEN MORE satisfying. Something about the ending just felt off and incomplete for me.
PAY ATTENTION - As I say with many of my other drama reviews, if you are looking for an easy drama where you don't have to pay very close attention it - RESET IS NOT THIS TYPE OF DRAMA! You need to be ready to pay CLOSE attention to the drama. There are a lot of facts and story plots to keep track of. I got confused a couple of times and had to rewind some things. It is very well written but you need to pay attention to keep everything straight with the drama.
