Now that I gave you my "Why I Like..." series, I thought WHY NOT TALK ABOUT MY FAVORITE GENRES! Some of my genres span across different countries' dramas and some genres I like more with just one country and prefer to watch that genre with that country. NOW, to preface, I will watch anything - any genre - I just tend to gravitate towards these genres more than others, ESPECIALLY depending on the country that the drama I am watching is from. These dramas are usually also paired with other genres because MANY dramas cover multiple genres so I am sure what I might associate a drama with a certain genre, someone might associate that drama with another genre.
This will surprise NO ONE! Even when I was not watching Asian dramas yet, I was always reading or watching something crime related. Naturally, that has transferred over to my drama-watching. Crime/Mystery is my GO-TO genre. I am ALWAYS watching at least 1 - more likely MORE THAN ONE AT ONCE! It doesn't matter what country the drama is from; I will watch a crime drama from all countries. Every country does crime dramas differently but well. I appreciate the little differences that all the different countries have in their crime dramas. I just love finding out the clues and trying to guess the culprit before the main characters find out.
Some of my favorite Crime Dramas from different countries:
TDRAMAS: The Victim's Game
I mostly see this genre as just a NON - STOP car chase WHICH I LOVE! It does not need romance to be good, which is fine with me. This genre just has a lot of fighting, high speed chases/action sequences and is just ALWAYS fun to watch. A lot of times this genre is mixed with other genres which I am fine with but can also do without the other genres. I JUST WATCH THESE FOR THE EXCITMENT AND WILD RIDE!
Some of my favorite Thriller/Action Dramas from different countries:
JDRAMAS: Caution, Hazardous Wife
CDRAMAS: The Lost Tomb Series (Season 2 pictured above)
I am a sucker for a good fantasy/supernatural drama. I love this genre with any country but Chinese dramas is where it's at for me when it comes to Fantasy dramas. As I said in my "Why I Like Cdramas" post, I just love how EPIC the fantasy cdramas can get. I think the lore and stories that fantasy dramas are based off of (in any country) are just so interesting. I like being immersed in the worlds that fantasy dramas create.
Some of my favorite Fantasy/Supernatural Dramas from different countries:
THAI DRAMAS: Until We Meet Again
4.DRAMA - specifically MAKJANG
I don't watch many dramas in the DRAMA genre EXCEPT IF IT IS MAKJANG! What does Makjang mean you ask. In dramaworld, it just means that the plot is COMPLETELY crazy and over the top. THAT IS MY KIND OF DRAMA! The crazier the better - I enjoy watching all the craziness unfold on my screen. I LIVE FOR IT! I will admit, I am very particular when it comes to the "drama" genre because I am not the biggest romance fan SO I need the crazy a lot of the times to keep me interested.
Some of my favorite Dramas from different countries:
JDRAMAS: The Perfect Insider
CDRAMAS: Danger of Her
TDRAMAS: Before We Get Married
5.ROMANCE - BUT I am VERY specific
I am not the biggest romance genre fan BUT sometimes I do need some romance in my life. I am very particular when it comes to the romance genre. Usually the romance genre has to be paired with another genre I LOVE for me to enjoy watching it. I LOVE MY ROMANCE WITH SOME MURDER! That is where it's at for me. I also tend to love romance Japanese dramas (as I said in my "Why I Like Jdramas" post) over all other countries. I tend to also gravitate towards certain tropes in my romance dramas like an office romance (like I said in my "Why I like Tdramas" post). I do love a good romance once in a while, just not ALL THE TIME and I am very specific in what I choose to watch - sometimes EVEN refusing to watch romance dramas with certain tropes or plot lines in them because I know I won't like them.

THAI DRAMAS: WHY R U?
WELL, THERE YOU GO! Those are my favorite genres (will watch anything though, my philosophy is give everything a chance). What are your favorite genres? Why do you like those genres? Are there any genres you refuse to watch? Got any dramas under those genres that you would recommend?
WE NOW ALSO HAVE A DISCORD SO TALK TO US ON THERE AS WELL!
