We are back with the last WATCHLIST post for 2025. You did not get one for November because I was trying to clear out my watchlist AND I was on break from the blog, podcast, YouTube Channel etc. Since I took November off and cleared out my current watchlist as much as possible, I added a slew of new dramas to my current watchlist. I will be introducing a lot of new dramas in this blogpost today. Some of the dramas/shows I will be talking were put on the backburner in November to clear out my watchlist and are still there. Overall, though, I think I did a pretty good job clearing out my current watchlist in November.

KDRAMAS

A Graceful Liar - I started this daily drama back in October. I did not keep up with the episodes. I also put it on the back burner in November to get other dramas off my current watchlist because it doesn't end until February. I don't plan to complete it in February. I will probably pick it back up again in January and watch it throughout the months to complete it. I LOVED the first episode as I said in my October WATCHLIST blogpost and podcast episode. I just need a juicy makjang in my life right now!

KVARIETY

Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Season 2 - I continue to watch this Korean Variety show slowly. I watch episodes here and there. This is another show that sort of took a back seat in November because of trying to get other dramas off of my current watchlist. New episodes also keep coming out so, I don't think it is ending soon. I just love the comedy of this show. I also love the food and the competition. Most Likely, I will keep this as an ongoing show on my current watchlist. I am FAR behind on episodes and new ones keep coming out. It is just a good show to throw on when I don't want to think too much. Maybe I need to dedicate a night a week to binging some of these episodes so, I at least catch up a bit.

CDRAMAS

Coroner's Diary - This Chinese drama also took a backseat in November because as I stated throughout this blogpost, I needed to get other dramas off my current watchlist. I decided that I am going to pick this one up again either later in December or January. I need to complete it in January now so, that is the goal. I like what I have watched so far. This Cdrama is definitely something I will love. I anticipate that I will love it. I remember saying in October that I like the main leads; chemistry which I do. I can't wait to see them start working together and how their relationship grows throughout the drama.

Medical Examiner Dr. Qin: Silent Evidence - This is the last of the Medical Examiner Dr Qin dramas in the series. I have watched 5 episodes or so right now. I plan to binge this for the rest of December and complete it before 2025 ends. I like it so far. I am sure there is going to be romance thrown into it because it is another one where one of the main leads is a woman and not a man so, there is not a bromance yet. I also foresee it not being a trio which is tragic because I think a trio crime fighting team is a selling part of the Medical Dr Qin series. There is also A LOT of comedy so far in this one. Right now, I don't like the female lead who is a cop. I think she is a little too loud and aggressive, but I can see myself coming around to her eventually. The first case was fun to watch and figure out. This might be another solid entry into the Medical Dr. Qin series, but we will have to wait and see.

JDRAMAS

DUE to me clearing off my current watchlist in November, I was left with only 3 things on my current watchlist for December. I needed more dramas to talk about in this blogpost/podcast episode, but I also didn't want to enter 2026 with a TON of long dramas on my current watchlist. SO, I opted to start a bunch of 2025 short Jdramas that I knew I could complete some of them before the end of 2025 and get my total up. The rest that I don't complete will be easy enough to complete in January 2026. So, all of these except for 1, I have watched the first episode.

Last Samurai Standing - THE PRODUCTION VALUE ON THIS IS SO GOOD! I know people told me I would like this if I liked Squid Game or Alice in Borderland and you would be correct. Just take the concept of the class conversation within Squid Game and the game part of it and stick it in Historical Japan near the end of the Samurai era. You get Last Samurai Standing. I already know there are going to be some heart wrenching part of this drama due to deaths. There are already some badass female characters in this Jdrama that I want to know more about. The cinematography in this is beautiful. There are going to be some insane fight scenes in this Jdrama FOR SURE! Trigger Warning for violence, death, fighting, gore etc.

Learning to Love - I honestly did not know what to expect from this first episode. I know A LOT of people loved this one. I enjoyed the first episode, but it took me a bit to start to like the female lead. On one hand, I felt bad for her and what her life already has done to her and what she has had to deal with so far. I also felt bad that her school and her students treat her so badly. I hope that changes. On the other hand, I thought she was so prickly at first and you could tell she did not like her job. By the end of the first episode though, that spark came back with teaching, and I can see why people liked her and how she will probably grow on me. With the male lead, I found him quite interesting right away. You think he is going to be this number one host at this club and he really isn't. You also can tell he has some trauma and a dark past that I am excited to learn more about and digest. How did he end up at this club? How did he end up being a host? Why can't he read and write? I can't wait to watch more and explore this relationship more. I also love how this drama already has a message about how these hosts who work in this environment are also human beings and have ambitions and goals in life.

The Revenge Lover - I started this Jdrama on a whim because I saw it was on VIKI. Sometimes you just need a good tropey Jdrama and THIS ONE FIT! You got a woman who discovers that her long-term boyfriend is cheating on her. She is then approached by the new CEO of her company to enter a contract relationship with him. He wants to escape an arranged marriage, and she is to get revenge on her cheating boyfriend. We will see if I stick with this one. The set up is cliche. The male lead is a little intriguing because he definitely remembers the female lead from somewhere, but she does not. So, there is a little mystery with them. I hope it is just a tropey good time.

Miss King - The minute I saw this preview, I knew I needed to click play on this Jdrama eventually. The first episode is a mix between The Queen's Gambit and Hikaru No Go and we all know how much I ADORE Hikaru No Go. (If you have not watched that Cdrama, DO IT!) Cinematography is GOREGEOUS in this drama. I loved the female lead's acting in this so far. It is revenge drama and you already are rooting for her. I don't know how they are going to do a full revenge, play your way through the ranks story in just 8 episodes so, we will have to wait and see. I hope the revenge has a satisfying ending. The female lead's acting Non REALLY stood out in the first episode.

Romantics Anonymous - I liked the first episode of this more than I thought I would. I thought the 2 main leads would be TOO awkward, but I am actually excited to see how they progress in the drama. I am excited to see how the main 2 leads' relationship progresses as well. You got 2 veteran actors as leads in this Jdrama so, I am sure the acting will be good. The first episode ALREADY made me cry. I LOVED the cinematography of the first episode. I know some trope will come into play because I can already predict some things that might happen further along in the drama, but I am looking forward to more episodes, nonetheless.

The Yakuza Boss's Beloved - I AM FINALLY WATCHING THIS JDRAMA! The amount of TikTok edits I have seen of this Jdrama just killed me because I wanted to watch it SO BADLY! I actually binged the first 3 episodes right away! The plot doesn't seem like it will be the deepest plot ever, I am ok with this. I don't think this Jdrama will be masterpiece and definitely is lower budget than some of the other Jdramas I am watching BUT I AM HAVING FUN! THE MAIN LEADS IN THIS DRAMA ARE EVERYTHING TO ME! I think they complement each other so well. There is something satisfying about the trope of the male lead coming to the rescue sometimes. I will say the female lead is very timid and has low self-esteem which might not be everyone's cup of tea. This will definitely be a cute fun binge for the end of the year.

Unnatural - This is an older Jdrama that has been on my plan to watchlist for a while. I realized after watching the first episode that I actually started this at some point, but I don't think I ever completed it for some reason. I wanted to finally watch this because China announced this year that they were going to be do a remake of this drama and I want to watch it. I can tell this is going to be an impactful drama with a great message. I loved the first case. The set up of the team was different than what I was expecting because I through there were only 1 main coroner but there are actually 2 main ones with 2 separate teams. One of the newbie coroners played by Kubota Masataka, something seems off with him. First off, he hates working around dead people and is asking all these prying questions. Something seems really fishy with his character. MIU 404 is in the same universe and that has also been on my plan to watchlist for a long time. One of my favorite Jpop songs ever is the OST so, that is a plus.
