It is a new year. It is natural that you make resolutions for the new year. Now I have not made any resolutions for my life because 2020 WAS A YEAR! I want to enter 2021 with no expectations of how I think this year is going to be.
THAT BEING SAID - I will make some 2021 drama - watching resolutions because maybe if I write them down and make them public, I WILL LIVE UP TO THEM! 😂 (let's be honest though, I probably won't - a year is A LONG TIME!)
1) SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF DRAMAS I AM WATCHING AT ONE TIME
There are times that I am watching 7 dramas at once and there are times that I am watching 17 dramas at once. This needs to stop! 😂 I knew when I did hit 17 dramas, it was just too much! I lost interest in a number of the dramas I was watching SO, never again. I think I am going to try and stick around the 13-drama mark. That way I will not be overwhelmed and I can enjoy the dramas I am watching. This might also allow me to watch more dramas because I will cycle through them fast - maybe...
2) ONLY WATCH 1 COMPLETED DRAMA AT ONCE TIME
This will definitely help me with keeping a limit to the number of dramas I am watching at one time. What happens is that I start a completed drama and get a good chunk of the episodes done BUT THEN start another drama that catches my eye. I don't go back to the first drama right away which means I either drop it or finish it MONTHS LATER! I want to avoid this. I want to start and finish dramas in a timely manner and not have things sitting in my watch list FOREVER!
3)WATCH MORE VARIETY OF DRAMAS
I did this in 2020 and hope to continue it in 2021. It REALLY paid off in 2020 because I discovered SOME AMAZING DRAMAS that I would not have watched if I wasn't willing to take the risk. I went out of my comfort zone and fell in love with new dramas, new actors and new OSTs. So, I want to continue doing this in 2021 and hopefully introduce my readers to EVEN MORE DRAMAS that they also would not normally check out.
4)BE MORE SELECTIVE
This plays into some of my resolutions that I have already talked about. I want to enjoy what I am watching. So, if I know I will not like a drama, I need to learn to not "check it out" and just leave it be. Sometimes I will check these types of dramas out and then end up dropping them. Also, I need to not follow the hype. Sometimes this works where I love a drama that EVERYONE IS LOVING and sometimes it doesn't. I JUST NEED TO WATCH DRAMAS I KNOW I WILL LOVE! This resolution will also just allow me, again, to keep the number of my dramas I am watching at a reasonable number.
Over the years I have gotten better at dropping and quitting dramas when I start to avoid them or not like them. When I first started watching dramas, I would never quit dramas and I would force myself to finish everything even if I hated the drama. So, I just need to do it more and continue dropping dramas I don't like. I don't want to agonize through a drama and just HATE WATCH something just to check it off the list. Life is too short and my drama list is too long for me to take the time to watch something I am not enjoying! 😂
