IT IS A NEW YEAR ONCE AGAIN! As per the tradition, I will look back on the resolutions I made for 2023 and see how I did. Did I stick to the resolutions I made? Did I succeed with what I wanted to do in 2023? Then I will write my resolutions for 2024!
LOOKING BACK AT 2022 DRAMA WATCHING RESOLUTIONS

1) SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF DRAMAS I AM WATCHING AT ONE TIME
I think I did a fairly good job with this but I did go over 10 sometimes which I said I didn't want to do in 2023. I definitely didn't let it get out of control but I think I could have been better as well.
2) ONLY WATCH 1 COMPLETED DRAMA AT ONCE TIME
I DEFINITELY did not follow this one once again. 😂 I don't think I was as bad as I have been in previous years. I also sometimes was watching more than one completed drama due to podcast episodes. That being said, I could be better at this.
3)WATCH MORE VARIETY OF DRAMAS
I still watched more Kdramas than any other country this year BUT I did watch more cdramas and other country's dramas in 2023 than other years. So, I was somewhat successful with this one. I think I could be better at this. I said for 2023 that I wanted to use my system of choosing my next drama more and I wanted use polls to have you guys choose my next drama which I did not do.
4)BE MORE SELECTIVE
I again was pretty successful with this one. I only dropped 11 dramas this year and some dramas I really thought I would like because they had everything I love in a drama. They just didn't work out. I could always do better though and drop less dramas. Always room for improvement.
5)ALWAYS TRY TO BE WATCHING A MAKJANG/CHEATING DRAMA?
I did not succeed with this one. I definitely didn't watch more lakorns. I watched some good makjang/cheating Kdramas but I probably could have watched more from any country.
6) END OF THE YEAR CLEAN OUT
I 100% SUCCEEDED WITH THIS ONE! I came into 2024 with just airing dramas on my current watchlist. I only have 2 dramas on my current watchlist because I tried really hard in December 2023 to complete the dramas on my current watchlist and not start new ones.
7)CLEAN OUT ON-HOLD LIST
I made progress with this one. I think I cleared out like 6 of the 12 dramas on my on-hold list. I want to do the other 6 in 2024. I think I can get to an empty on-hold list by the end of 2024.
8)DON'T LOOK AHEAD!
I was not successful with this in 2023. I still looked ahead on the currently airing dramas I was watching sometimes when I fell behind. I don't want to skim future episodes anymore and just watch them already! I really need to stop doing this. I hate spoilers so why do I spoil myself? 😂
NOW FOR MY 2024 DRAMA WATCHING RESOLUTIONS
1) SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF DRAMAS I AM WATCHING AT ONE TIME
I want to try and challenge myself again. I want to only be watching 6-8 dramas at a time, no more than 10. I think this worked out fairly well for me in 2023 but I did exceed 12 sometimes. I watch more when I have less on my plate.
2) ONLY WATCH 1 COMPLETED DRAMA AT ONCE TIME
I really need to follow this. I end up having dramas on my current watchlist for months because I am concentrating on other dramas to get them off my current watchlist. If I just had one completed drama on my current watchlist at a time, I think this will help me not have dramas on my current watchlist for months as a time.
3)DON'T LOOK AHEAD! CAITLIN JUST STOP DOING THIS!!! Just watch the drama and then watch edits afterwards or rewatch fav scenes after the fact!
4)CLEAN OUT ON-HOLD LIST
I made progress in 12023 with this. Now in 2024, I just need to clear out 6 more dramas! I barely ever put anything on-hold nowadays so, I think If I can clear it out, it will be empty forever after that. I never put dramas on hold because I never go back to them.
5) WATCH ALL THE CHEATING/MAKJANG DRAMAS I CAN GET MY HANDS ON
I think 2024 is the year for cheating/makjang dramas. This means that 2024 is MY YEAR! I love this genre so; I hope to watch all of the cheating/makjang dramas. I know I have some on my plan to watch list that I just need to click play on. They have been on this list FOREVER! Also, I get the feeling that the theme for 2024 might be cheating/makjang dramas so if that turns out to be true - THAT IS A WIN FOR ME!
6) WATCH MORE CRIME DRAMAS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
I watch a lot of crime Kdramas. I watch a lot of them because I watch a lot of Korean dramas as they air. There are so many crime dramas from other countries that I want to watch. I know I have a ton of dramas from China I have not clicked play on. I know China and Taiwan has put out some great crime dramas over the past few years. I just need to make those a priority.
7)WATCH MORE THRILLER LIKE DRAMAS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
I miss watching the Lost Tomb and Candle in the Tomb series. There are plenty of dramas from these two Chinese dramas series that I have not watched yet. I want to prioritize these dramas as well in 2024. I also want to check out some other thriller dramas from other countries like Japan and Thailand. I watched some great thriller/horror Thai dramas in 2023 so, I want to check more out.
8)BE MORE ORGANIZED
I am going to start doing some new things this year in 2024. This means I have to be more organized! I have to schedule out stuff more. I might even have to work on the blog and the new stuff I have planned after work during the week which I try to avoid usually. I am excited for everything I plan to do in 2024. I am a little scared because some of these things are quite big but I am excited as well. I just need to stay on top of things and be organized.
9) COMPLETE MORE DRAMAS IN 2024
I completed 64 dramas in 2023. That is less dramas than I completed in 2022, 2021 and 2020. So, I want to complete more dramas this year. I don't have to beat my 2020 drama number but at least get higher than 2022 and maybe 2021. One day I want to break 100 but I don't think that will happen in 2024 so BABY STEPS!
10) TRY NOT TO FALL TOO BEHIND ON AIRING DRAMAS
One of the reasons why I dropped dramas in 2023 was I fell behind on a drama and didn't feel like catching up. Or I fell behind on a drama, got spoiled on a major plot point which caused me to drop it. Or I fell behind on a drama, tried to catch up and got bored of it. So, I really want to try and not fall behind on airing dramas this year. This will probably mean I will drop les dramas in 2024 but we will see.
