IT IS A NEW YEAR which means I need to look back at my 2022 drama watching resolutions and see how I did. Did I accomplish what I wanted to do? I also need to write my drama watching resolutions for 2023. I like doing these types of posts because I love looking back on the year and seeing if I have accomplished what I set out to do in the new year. LET'S SEE HOW I DID!!
LOOKING BACK AT 2022 DRAMA WATCHING RESOLUTIONS

1) SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF DRAMAS I AM WATCHING AT ONE TIME
I said in 2022 that I was going to keep the limit to the number of dramas that I am watching at one time to 10 in total. I did not do that. I was better but there were times that I got up to like 13 or so. I think I did see some progress with the number of dramas I watch at one time and how many dramas I finished but it could be better. I want to do even better in 2023.
2) ONLY WATCH 1 COMPLETED DRAMA AT ONCE TIME
I definitely failed with this resolution in 2022. I definitely ended up watching more than 1 complete drama at once. HECK, I BROUGHT LIKE 3 COMPLETE DRAMAS INTO 2023 THAT I AM CURRENTLY WATCHING! I have been watching these 3 complete dramas for like FOREVER and I need to finish them already.
3)WATCH MORE VARIETY OF DRAMAS
I definitely watched more variety of dramas and shows in 2022 but I still think I watched to many Kdramas. Most of my completed dramas are still Kdramas because those are the dramas I watch while airing.
4)BE MORE SELECTIVE
I think I made a lot of progress in this. I was even more selective in what I started in dramaland in 2022. I think I could be better but WE MADE PROGRESS!
5)DROP IT
There were still some dramas in 2022 that I finished and should have dropped so, I don't think I did the best at this resolution. I still dropped a fair number of dramas though in 2022.
6)ALWAYS TRY TO BE WATCHING A MAKJANG/CHEATING DRAMA?
I did end up watching a handful of makjang/cheating dramas. I definitely could have watched more though. I CAN ALWAYS WATCH MORE CHEATING/MAKJANG DRAMAS. I just LOVE this genre of dramas.
7) END OF THE YEAR CLEAN OUT
I was half-way successful with this resolution. I did not start any new dramas after October in 2022 in an effort to clean out my watchlist. What I was not successful with was coming into 2023 with no dramas carried over from 2022. I still brought over about 4 dramas. With some of my life changes at the end of 2022, I just did not have a lot of time to watch dramas and just got behind. I did finish some of the dramas that had been on my current watchlist FOR AWHILE! So, I succeeded in doing this resolution halfway.
NOW FOR MY 2022 DRAMA WATCHING RESOLUTIONS
1) SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF DRAMAS I AM WATCHING AT ONE TIME
I think I am going to try and only be watching 6-8 dramas at a time. Try to keep my limit even lower in 2023. If I NEED to go higher, than go to 10 at the max. 10 worked well for me in 2022 but I can do better. I am curious how many dramas I finish in 2023. January has been a VERY slow drama watching month for me because of LIFE and I want to be more social in 2023. I am curious how this will turn out.
2) ONLY WATCH 1 COMPLETED DRAMA AT ONCE TIME
I was AGAIN not successful in this in 2022 SO LET'S TRY IT AGAIN IN 2023! The reason why I am trying to do this is because I think I might finish complete dramas faster this way. We will see though...
3)WATCH MORE VARIETY OF DRAMAS
I want to really use my system of choosing my next drama to watch more in 2023. I want to use polls on social media for people to choose what I watch next. I think this will allow me to have even more variety with what I am watching.
4)BE MORE SELECTIVE
I had a lot of success with this in 2022 but it could always be better. I want to only start and watch dramas that I want to watch. I don't want to follow what the people are watching. I know what I like so, I need to watch what I like. Then I can share those dramas with you guys. I also just need to continue to drop dramas I am not enjoying. Why grind through them if you are not liking them.
5)ALWAYS TRY TO BE WATCHING A MAKJANG/CHEATING DRAMA?
I can always have more cheating/makjang dramas in my life. I want to watch more lakorns in 2023 so, that will be my goal in 2023. CAITLIN, WATCH MORE LAKORNS IN 2023! These dramas get crazy and can have lots of drama and cheating in them.
6) END OF THE YEAR CLEAN OUT
I did not start 2023 with 0 dramas on my watchlist or I did not start 2023 with just airing dramas on my watchlist. THAT IS MY GOAL FOR THE END OF THE YEAR! Clear out my current watchlist from all the dramas that be finished by the end of year by the time that 2024 starts. I don't want to go into 2024 with dramas on my watchlist unless the last episodes air in 2024.
7)CLEAN OUT ON-HOLD LIST
I am doing a challenge (seen here in my blogpost) to clear out my on-hold list by 2024. I HOPE I COMPLETE THIS CHALLENGE! I have a history of not completing the challenges I start. Since I am doing it with someone, I hope that keeps me accountable.
8)DON'T LOOK AHEAD!
I have developed a HORRIBLE habit with complete dramas where I will skim future episodes and watch the tropes I like ahead of time. That means I know what is coming and I might get bored of the drama. I am then not surprised sometimes when something happens in a drama. I don't do this with every drama I am watching but I have done it. I don't want to do this anymore because I want to be surprised in the dramas I am watching. I don't have this issue with airing dramas because I usually don't have episodes to skim because I watch them right away. It is just the completed dramas I am watching. I don't know why I have started doing this but I want to stop it in 2023.
