OK! WE MADE SOME PROGRESS!! I finished some dramas that I should have finished already. I still have a few that I need to finish or that I have put on the back burner that I need to pick up again and start actively watching again. There are also some new ones that I added. I also added a section at the end this month of dramas I plan on starting soon - IF THEY COME TO STREAMING SITES! I just want to list a few new dramas to get excited for at the end.
Remember if I put ADDICTED next to any drama, that means I AM LOVING THE DRAMA!
KDRAMAS
Bad Thief, Good Thief - WE FINALLY MADE IT OUT OF CHILDHOOD! I am still watching this slowly, little by little. THE CHARACTERS ARE ADULTS NOW! Now, I am starting to see these rivalries start to develop. I am starting to see where the romances might happen and with what characters. I will be curious to see if any of the main four characters develop into the main villain or if someone new comes in and will bring the four main characters together against one big bad guy. This drama has gotten a little lighter now that the backstory is done and all of the adults are adults. There were definitely some parts that made me laugh and that were unexpected.
Blood Free - This Korean drama premiered this past week. I am so glad that we got access to this drama here in the USA because it is a Disney + production and you just never know with Disney Plus. I have been looking forward to this one for a while for 1 MAJOR reason. I wanted to see Ju Ji Hoon and Han Hyo Joo act beside each other. they did not disappoint! Now, there were a lot of setup in these first 2 episodes so, we didn't get as many scenes with them together as I would have liked. The scenes we did get them together were ELECTRIFYING! Their chemistry together was SO GOOD! I might just REALLY want a bodyguard/CEO romance because I already ship these two together. There is NO mention of romance in this drama though. It is always like this, just like with Stranger, it is always the pairs that you want romance with who are in dramas without any romance. Now, only 2 episodes have aired, so, that could change but right now I am not expecting romance with this drama. I hope we get some good action and saving scenes though. There are some good mysteries already building.
Hide - The next couple of dramas are all about crazy people and crappy husbands. I don't know if a lot of people are watching Hide BUT DAMN IT IS SUCH AS GOOD DRAMA! It has had some nice twists and turns that I did not see coming. The husband is crappy which seems to be a theme in 2024. The villain is delicious and acted VERY WELL! This cast is just doing SO WELL! I really need to watch a Noona romance soon because I ship the wife and the motorcycle riding sidekick together SO MUCH! 😂
Nothing Uncovered - This Korean drama ALSO features a crappy husband. His character is acted well BUT MAN HE IS A CRAPPY CHARACTER AND HUSBAND. I might be bias with this drama though. I ship our reporter wife with the cop SO MUCH! I shipped them together when I just saw the posters and watched the behind the scene video of them shooting the posters. I came into this drama with a bias. This drama also features a wonderfully crazy villain that is fun to watch. The villain is insane and unpredictable. The reporter wife is the weakest link for me in this drama. Her character is poorly written and makes dumb decisions that I don't think a reporter would make AT ALL!
The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection - I watched Season 1 so, I HAD to watch Season 2. It is just as crazy as Season 1. 😂 You watch this type of drama with no expectations. You are in it for the wild ride. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING - THIS IS A WILD RIDE! I mean in the first 2 episodes; Hwang Jung Eum's character has to amputate her leg and then gets back to Seoul with it healed in a VERY suspicious short amount of time. I am not liking that there are multiple characters that are trying to get redemption arcs. I just wanted Lee Joon's character to come in and steamroll everyone.
The Midnight Studio - I am pretty much caught up on this drama. I have cried with practically EVERY episode. I am loving this drama a lot. I don't know a lot of people who are watching this one. I wish more people would check it out. I am curious to see how it will all wrap up. I just can't fathom how the male lead's fate won't play out. Maybe he will die but then be revived or something. I know Kwon Na Ra's character has something to do with saving him. Now that we are in the second half, the drama has shifted to concentrating on the main 4 character's stories including the 2 ghost helpers. All I know is I WILL BE CRYING FOR THE REST OF THIS DRAMA!
CDRAMAS
Love of Replica - I am worried that Blood free might not be the bodyguard/CEO romance that I want SO, I STARTED THIS CHINESE DRAMA TO FULFILL THAT NEED! Now, last year I watched a drama called Mysterious Love. It was an entertaining drama and had a little bit of everything. It was a nice binge but definitely wasn't a perfect drama. What stood out the most with Mysterious Love is the leads' chemistry. Because the leads' chemistry was so noticeable, the leads were paired again in Love of Replica. This was supposed to be like Mysterious Love 2. I have watched the first 2 episodes. I am enjoying it so far. There is a bit of mystery about it. The leads' chemistry is still a highlight FOR SURE! Since I wanted a CEO/Body guard romance, this is hitting the spot so far. There were definitely plot holes with Mysterious Love so, I am expected that Love of replica won't have the best script but I am just here for the leads and the bodyguard/CEO romance.
The Long Night - This drama has sort of been put on the back burner as I have worked at catching up with other dramas/finishing dramas. I plan to get back into it soon. I still have only watched the first episode.
JDRAMAS
Shogun - I am all caught up with Shogun now. I can't believe it ends in 2 weeks. It is one of my favorite dramas I am watching right now. The production has announced that there will only be 1 season of this drama. I am really curious how this will all wrap up. The costumes, cinematography, the setting - there is so much to look at and appreciate in this drama. You can tell the production took a lot of time to research and put a lot of hard work to make this drama come to life. There is actually a podcast about this drama that I want to listen. I love all of the behind-the-scenes things the drama has been dropping on social media. The acting is SUPERB! I just have learned so much by watching this show. Since, I want to learn even more and go listen to the official show podcast, it just shows how much I LOVE THIS DRAMA!
Eye Love You - I should FINALLY be able to finish this drama because the rest of the episodes drop on NETFLIX tomorrow. It has been put on the back burner for this reason. There are just no more episodes for me to watch. I still am LOVING this drama and I am curious to see how it ends. I know there will be come angst down the road because this female lead is SO reserved and closed off. I look forward to see how their relationship changes her and allows her to open up more. I know I am in the minority for what I am going to say next but I appreciate that the drama did not sub his Korean thoughts. I know a lot of people wished they had subbed them but I liked the choice. It brings some authenticity to the drama for me.
ANIME
Yu Yu Hakusho - This is a rewatch for me. I LOVE this anime and I watched it a Million years ago. This anime is from the 90s. I remember watching it when it aired on a channel on TV on like Saturday mornings growing up. Now that NETFLIX has made a live action adaption, I want to rewatch the anime again and then check out the live action adaption afterwards. I have heard mixed reviews on the live adaption so, I was curious to watch it myself. I barely remember the anime though so, I want to rewatch the anime first. I have only watched the first 2 or 3 episodes because I just started it.
TDRAMAS
Light the Night Season 1 - This drama also has been on the back burner. I have not watched any more episodes because I was finishing up other dramas. So, this is another drama I need to get back too and at least finish Season 1 already. So, I lied in last month's watchlist blogpost and podcast episode because I said I needed to finish this before I made my watchlist blogpost for April. This is now the April watchlist blogpost. 😂
INDIAN DRAMA
Dear ISHQ - I watched more of this drama because the episodes are so short. The leads still hate each other. I think one of them will have to yield at some point. They are both so stubborn. The female lead acts like the male lead is the worst but she is doing the same things that the male lead is doing. I am a little worried because I know that Indian dramas last for hundreds of episodes. This drama is only 60 episodes so, I am worried how it will all end because in my mind if the drama was only 60 episodes, that means that it might have just ended abruptly because it wasn't getting the ratings it needed. I hope it has a decent ending. I am still enjoying the banter of the two leads going back and forth but I need some movement with their romance which I know in Indian dramas can be a real slow burn.

That is my current watchlist for April 2024 and some dramas I plan to add to it soon. I know that my watchlist is LONG but I like that there is a lot of variety on it. There are always new dramas to add to my current watchlist. I need to work to get some of the ones off it that I have been watching for too long and have been on the back burner.
