ANTICIPATED CDRAMAS OF 2026

We looked at 2026 Kdramas a few weeks ago that I was excited for. You can check out that blogpost here. Now it is time to look at the upcoming Cdramas and talk about some that I am looking forward too. OBVIOUSLY, there are WAY MORE Cdramas than I can ever talk about coming out in 2026 so, this list will not include EVERY SINGLE CDRAMA I am excited for.

Now, I probably have mentioned all or at least most of these cdramas at least once, especially in my NEW IQIYI and NEW YOUKU 2025/2026 posts. I have linked those blog posts above if you want to look at them again. I am going to try and mention some new cdramas that I have not mentioned before but I definitely will be covering some cdramas I already have talked about. Other cdramas mentioned in those posts have already aired before 2024 ended so, of course, I will not be mentioning them in this post. There are also more cdramas on those lists that I will not mention even if they might air in 2026 because this list would just be way too long. I am going to try and keep this list to around 20 or so cdramas since my Kdrama list was around the same amount. We will have to see. Just know that there is way more cdramas out there that I am excited to watch than the ones just on this list. As you will see from my list, I am excited for a lot of historical, Xianxia and crime but those are my favorite genres for cdramas so, it makes sense. I will also be starting the list in March just like I did for My Kdramas list since some Cdramas have already aired.

LET'S BEGIN!

Quick Note, all of these cdramas are rumored for 2026 or even 2027. We all know that cdramas can premiere out of the blue or something can happen, and the dramas never see the light of day. There are a lot of dramas out there that I am sure I have not heard of yet that will come out in 2026. This list will be long, but I am not putting every cdrama I am excited for on the list, or this blogpost will never end. This list is in no particular order. Some dramas will have posters and teasers, and some will not. Let me know what cdramas you are excited for!

Love Beyond the Grave

Premiere Date: Rumored for March 2026

I know this is highly anticipated by a lot of people, me included. I did not watch any dramas from Dilraba or Arthur Chen that came out in 2025 (yet) so, it will be nice to see both of them on my screen in 2026. I love a good Xianxia so, this one is right up my alley. Dilraba's costume in this drama looks beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing everything she wears. I am also just looking forward to her character in this drama. It seems to be a little different from what I have seen her do before. We got another cdrama with a general as the Male lead but this time it is a Xianxia. I am really curious about the chemistry between Dilraba and Arthur Chen.

Southern Anecdote

Premiere Date: Rumored for March

It should not be a surprise that I am excited for Southern Anecdote. I have said COUNTLESS times that I am a HUGE fan of the Lost Tomb franchise. Since Southern Anecdote is a part of that franchise, then I am looking forward to this drama. This is another prequel to the Lost Tomb Series just like Mystic Nine is. It is a standalone series but is still related to the Lost Tomb series with references and characters. I just love a good tomb raiding cdrama. You also can't go wrong with Zhang Xin Cheng and Ding Yu Xi looking fantastic in Republican Era clothing. I have been in need of a good Bromance cdrama and this cdrama fits that description.

Zhan Zhao Adventures

Premiere Date: Rumored for March

I know I talked about this in the New Youku 2025/2026 Cdramas blogpost when the new trailer was released. I did not watch Yang Yang's cdrama from 2025 The Immortal Ascension. It is on my list to check out at some point. I saw the trailer for this and it looks AMAZING! I know I didn't have high hopes for this cdrama before the trailer came out but once that trailer dropped, I was more interested. I always like a good wuxia drama. This cdrama has the makings of being a nice wuxia cdrama to check out. I am curious about he cast and how they will work together and what their chemistry is going to be like. I know this story is pretty well known in China so, hopefully it can live up to those expectations.

Hidden Shadow

Premiere Date: Rumored for Late February or March

I JUST NEED A LI HONG YI DRAMA IN MY LIFE! I SWEAR this man has like a billion cdramas waiting to be released. I just love him as an actor. Yes, I have not watched Treasure of Dawn yet so, if you have seen that cdrama, please let me know what you thought of it. Treasure of Dawn does look like a drama that I would like because I do love a good historical investigation cdrama. THAT IS NOT THE DRAMA WE ARE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THOUGH! The set up for the female lead, Wang Chu Ran's, character also sounds interesting in this drama. The plot says this is sort of a spy/secret agent story set in historical China. I AM HERE FOR THAT!

Coming to Myself

Premiere Date: Rumored for Late February or March

I know I mentioned this one before, but it still is not out yet so, hopefully we will see it out in 2026. I am still waiting for this cdrama so, we are going to talk about it again. I love a good Amnesia trope so, this cdrama speaks to me. It is also a crime romance drama, and I love that combo in a drama. This gives me Love Me if You Dare vibes which is a classic crime cdrama so, if you are a fan of that cdrama, you should put Coming to Myself on your radar. I am also curious about Jing Tian and Zhang Xin Cheng's chemistry as both partners in crime and possibly romance partners.

Escape to Your Heart

Premiere Date: Rumored for March - May

Another pairing that I am really late to because I have yet to watch Melody of Golden Age but that doesn't mean I can't also be excited for the pairing again and this new cdrama. I am curious about the main couples' chemistry (played by Ding Yu Xi and Ancy Deng) since I have not seen their other drama together. This also seems like an interesting set up for them as a couple because it sounds like both of the leads as individuals start at the beginning of the drama at rock bottom and then together fight to come out on top again. I love a good underdog story.

Blossom

Premiere Date: Rumor for April 2026

Why is everything being name Blossom?! This cdrama is one of the very few modern cdramas I am highly anticipating for 2026. I am interested in this drama for 2 reasons. I love a good female lead who is starting at rock bottom story and trying to claw her way back to the top again. Her work as a counselor sounds interesting to watch in this plot but might also have some great dialogue and messaging within it. I also like the male lead actor a lot. He is played by Wang Zi Qi. I have only watched the female lead Zhou Yi Ran in one other cdrama which was Regeneration but that is ok. I liked her in that cdrama so, I am glad that I am excited for another one of her dramas.

Chasing Dreams

Premiere Date: Rumored for May

Zhang Jing Yi is the big draw for me here in this cdrama. I have watched her in other cdramas and like her as an actress. Of course, I have seen the male lead Chen Zhe Yuan in some of his older dramas and know of him, but I have not seen any of his most recent dramas even though a bunch of them are on my list to watch. The story for this cdrama looks good as well. I am curious if the female lead being able to foresee the future actually is a part of the plot or is it something else in the plot like a con that the female lead runs or something. I love when a little fantasy is thrown into the plot if it is a real part of the plot.

Liang Chen Mei

Premiere Date: Rumored for May or June 2026

Another actor who I love and have not watch a BUNCH of his drama is Ci Sha. He is the male lead in this Cdrama. I seriously need to watch more of his dramas. I have many that are in my plan to watchlist. This sort of sounds like a marry first, find love later story and I AM A SUCKER FOR THOSE STORIES! I have been looking for one. We will see if that is actually the case once it airs or is just my wishful thinking. The stills from this drama so far look beautiful. This is also one of Ci Sha's first main roles. He has mostly done support roles in dramas so, I am excited to see him in a lead role in this drama.

Spying

Premiere Date: Rumored for June 2026

I know I mentioned this one in New Youku 2025/2026 Blogpost but it is highly anticipated for A LOT of people including myself. I want a good spy drama and this seems like it is going to deliver. Of course, a lot of people are excited to see Xiao Zhan in a new cdrama, myself included. The posters for this drama have really set the mood. I am ready for a good spy drama with a suspenseful plot.

Blossoms of Power

Premiere Date: Rumored for June 2026

Again, with Blossom in the title, aren't cdramas over using Blossom in a drama title? CLEARLY NOT! I am very curious about Meng Zi Yi and He Yu's chemistry in this drama. I have never watched He Yu in a drama before even though I have some of his dramas on my plan to watchlist. After watching Blossom, and other Meng Zi Yi dramas, she is the real draw for me here because I like her acting. I do love the trope of a male lead pretending to be sick. It also sounds like both leads will be smart leads in this drama. The teasers for this drama have really drawn me in.

Mo Li

Premiere Date: Rumored for July 2026

I have been waiting for this cdrama since it was announced. WHO HASN'T!? I am a fan of both leads, Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, and have seen a lot of both of their dramas. I have always wanted to watch them together as leads in a drama and we are getting that in Mo Li. This is another drama with the sickly or crippled male lead who married the female lead. The female lead is out for revenge. Nothing new in the plot but I LOVE this set up in any cdrama. This grabs my attention. This story also feels like it is a marry first and then find love second which I seem to really be in the mood for right now.

Shadow Punisher

Premiere Date: Rumored for July 2026

Listen, anything with Luo Yun Xi in it, I am there. This is also a historical mystery cdrama that centers around a detective. It is my kind of drama. I mean it even has a historical forensic examiner in the plot. I am looking forward to the bromance of Luo Yun Xi and Alen Fang. I have always liked Alen Fang as an actor as well. It seems like the plot has a little bit of fantasy and monsters mixed into it as well. There are a lot of things that are standing out to me with this drama.

Jiang Shan Wei Pin

Premiere Date: Rumored for August or later in 2026

I know this cdrama had a bit of controversy with filming. I am excited to see Wu Jin Yan back on my screen. I am glad she is getting more roles again after The Double was successful. Speaking of The Double, you will see some familiar faces in this Cdrama from that cdrama. Wu Jin Yan once again is playing a smart and cunning female lead in this cdrama. It was so much fun watching her in The Double with this type of character, so, I am exciting for her character in this as well.

The Awake

Premiere Date: Rumored for 2026

I will be honest, this cdrama wasn't really on my radar until I randomly came across it. From the posts and stills, it looks like a gritty Republican Era Spy drama. I love the costumes from this era so, I was immediately interested. I also love Ou Hao and he is the male lead in this drama. I think he is a very versatile actor. I am also ready to dive into more spy cdramas because I have a ton on my plan to watchlist that I just have not gotten around to checking out. He has done quite a few crime cdramas which I think he has been pretty good in.

Overdo

Premiere Date: Rumored for 2026

I mean this cdrama needs no introduction. I already talked about it many times including in my New IQIYI 2025/2026 Cdramas blogpost. A LOT of people are excited for this cdrama, myself included. I will be honest though; all of the hype has made me nervous that it won't live up to that expectation. I, at least know given the time period it is set in that the costumes and sets are going to look amazing. Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran look really good together and pull off the looks from the era well. The story sounds juicy and like something I would enjoy as well. I liked the juicy drama filled dramas. We will have to wait and see what the opinions are once this airs. Also, I got to say, Wang Chu Ran is gearing up to have quite the year in 2026 if all her dramas air like they are rumored too.

The Mystic Nine against the Coming Storm

Premiere Date: Rumored for Summer 2026

This is probably one of my most anticipated dramas for 2026. I know I already talked about it in length in my New Youku 2025/2026 Cdramas blogpost. With the number of times, I have talked about The Lost Tomb Series over the years, it should be no surprised that I am excited for this one. If I have not said it before, I will say it again - I LOVE THE LOST TOMB SERIES!! I am SO excited that we are FINALLY getting a Season 2 to The Mystic Nine. I am excited to see William Chan reprise his role and then have Joseph Zeng and Sebrina Chen join him in this cdrama. I can't wait to see this trio. Of course, the costumes have looked great given the time period. I just CAN'T WAIT and can't believe we are finally getting this drama because it came out of nowhere when it was announced.

Burning Night

Premiere Date: Sometime in 2026

I know I have talked about this cdrama before; it may have been in my Anticipated Cdramas for 2025 blogpost and obviously this cdrama did not air in 2025. So, I will just reiterate what I said in that blogpost here again. It has my historical doctor trope, and it is the female lead which I love. It is a republican era drama which I am always drawn too because of the costumes. It stars Tian Jia Rui who I am sure a lot of other people love other than me but I like him as well. The genres for this drama are thriller, historical, romance. I love when we have a drama that pairs thriller and romance together. Apparently, Wang Yu Wen is the female lead, and she plays a doctor. A war lord is killed in her clinic and now she has to figure out who did it. Tian Jia Rui plays a patient in her clinic who killed the commander and eventually the doctor and him form a romance and decide to protect the clinic. This synopsis definitely sounds like something I would like.

Jagged Peaks

Premiere Date: Sometime in 2026

This is a cdrama that I have only recently heard about. I am LOVING the look of the cast. It has a lot of actors and actresses that I like and I am curious about them together in a drama together. This cdrama stars Liu Xue Yi, Jiang Qi Lin and Xing Fei. This is a modern set crime drama that will only be 12 or 13 episodes long. Liu Xue Yi teams up with Jiang Qi Lin and reinvestigates an old crime case. Another interesting thing about this drama is that it seems to be an original script and not based off of anything so, I am interested in that as well.

In the Moonlight

Premiere Date: Sometime in 2026

This drama caught my eye due to the plot. We have a political marriage. We have exile to a foreign land so, it seems a little more exotic in the plot description. The costumes look nice in this cdrama as well. The stills from this cdrama look very pretty. I have not seen the male or female lead in a drama before, but I do know of them and recognize them. They just are not the reason I am interested in this drama. This stars Wang Hong Yi and Bao Shang En. A bunch of their dramas are on my plan to watch list.

Remnants of Gold

Premiere Date: Sometime in 2026

This cdrama is another shorter cdrama with only 12 episodes. This cdrama caught my eye because of the character posters. All of the posters look high quality and gritty which hopefully means that translate into the drama as well. That is a plus for me. This drama is about a group of people who is seeking treasure in a desert. It definitely looks like a wuxia drama. It also stars some HEAVY hitters in my opinion like Xin Zhi Lei and Chen Kun. Both are fantastic actors and this is a little different for them, plot wise. It also stars Yin Fang who I just watched in the fantastic movie Better Days. I really liked his acting in that movie so, he is also another reason why I am interested in this cdrama.

My Queen, My Rules

Premiere Date: Rumored for Late 2026 or 2027

As an AVID Vertical cdrama watcher, THIS DRAMA SCREAMS VERTICAL CDRAMA TO ME! I am SO EXCITED for this drama! I hope it is as dramatic and tropey as I am picturing it to be. The poster alone that was released is just fantastic. I know a lot of other people who excited for this cdrama because the same reason I am talking about. It also has the trope of arranged marriage which I am ALWAYS a fan of. Ao Rui Peng and Shen Yu Jie look great together and really scream POWER COUPLE to me with just how they look in the released stills and posters. I also love both of these actors from Coroner's Diary so, I am excited to see them again in another drama.

Against the Current

Premiere Date: Rumored for Second Half of 2026

As I have said MULTIPLE times, I love a female centered drama. Especially if the character loses everything and then has to crawl back and win at the end. Against The Current is giving that setup to me. I love both Tan Song Yun and Liu Xue Yi individually as actors so, I am curious about their chemistry together. I love a good, strong female lead character. The stills and posters coming out of this drama gives me hope that this will be a good drama. It also looks like it sort of will be a family drama and I always love that, especially if it is set in a historical time period setting.

Liao Zhai

Premiere Date: Rumored for Late 2026 or 2027

Last but certainly not least, this cdrama caught my eye for many reasons. It looks quite unique and different. It first seems like it is going to be an anthology drama of sorts with many smaller stories in it. It also looks like it is going to be horror and fantasy which interest me a lot, especially since it is a historical setting. The cast is very recognizable with a mix of new and veteran actors. Since it looks like it is an anthology series, you have many actors/actresses as the leads in this drama. This cdrama sounds like it is going into Chinese folklore a lot which is very interesting to me. I hope this cdrama does well.

I am sure there are many cdramas that are coming out in 2026 that I didn't even mention. We know how cdramaland works and hey some cdramas I mention here might not even be out until 2027.
