May was another good month for me and completing dramas. I still didn't complete as many dramas as I wanted but I feel like in 2025 that will be a common thing. 2025 will be a low drama year for me. At this point in 2024, I had already completed 30 dramas and in 2025 I have completed half of that. June, I think will once again be a month where I try and clear off my current watchlist. Hopefully I can start watching some airing dramas again. I currently am watching no airing dramas, and I haven't been doing that for months. We will see if I end up doing that or not.

DRAMAS/MOVIES I COMPLETED IN MAY

As I said, May was another good month for me and completing dramas. I definitely got some things off my current watchlist but not everything that needed to be moved off got completed. I also did not start any of the new dramas I was looking forward to in May either. I am just to continue to try and get things off my current watchlist at this point to add new things onto it. OR I will at least work to get caught up on somethings so, I don't feel constantly behind.

Flower of Evil (Kdrama) (rewatch)(VIKI): YES! I have rewatched this for a 5th time. I rewatched this a future review on my own podcast with a guest. 😊 I will always rewatch this drama because it is one of my all-time favorite crime Kdramas. I still rated this as I have the last 4 times, I have watched this which is 9.5/10. I have a few quibbles with it but nothing that derails it. I still had my same issues that I had with the ending as I always do. I am really curious about the cdrama remake of this drama so, I plan to watch it. That drama is called Yin Man Zhi Shi. I just love this Kdrama. I love the acting and I think it is a great intro into crime Kdramas.  Look forward to an upcoming podcast review on the podcast for this Kdrama.

RATING: 9.5/10

Time Between Dog and Wolf (Kdrama) (VIKI): I liked this Kdrama more than I thought I would. I don't know what I was expecting but it definitely not what I got. I think my expectations were low just because it is such an older drama but I pleasantly surprised. If you like Kdramas like The Worst of Evil, you will like this one. This drama also had more depth to it than I assumed it would. If you like dramas about undercover missions and revenge, this is the drama for you! You have drama and light makjang. It does have some over the top acting but also moments where the acting is great. I loved the bromance in this drama. I also thought the characters were complicated and were not one note. It just was so surprising and I am really glad I checked this one out. Look forward to an upcoming podcast review on the podcast for this Kdrama.

RATING: 8.5/10

The Art of Negotiation (Kdrama) (VIKI): I am glad I stuck with this one and did not drop it. This drama is not for everyone. You have to love company politics. It does have a revenge storyline, but it is slow moving. It does have a satisfying revenge ending though. This drama is worth it to see Lee Je Hoon with white hair. He pulls it off well. I was annoyed for a bit with the intern, but I do love the found family in this drama. I think some of the episodes were WAY TO LONG or bogged down by unnecessary information. You can tell the drama did a lot of research into M&A and company politics. People may not like that it was set up for a Season 2. It isn't an open ending or anything though but there definitely could be a Season 2 FOR SURE!

RATING: 8/10

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (Studio Ghibli Film) (HBO MAX): A Studio Ghibli movie I have not seen. I LOVED the female lead. The movie has lots of great messages with this like antiwar. I was pleasantly surprised I liked this. I loved that it had more of a fantasy feel to it. The ending seemed a bit unfinished. If you want to hear more of my thoughts about this movie and the other Studio Ghibli movies in this blogpost, you can go to the podcast and listen to the latest Studio Ghibli review episode.

RATING: 9/10

Castle in the Sky (Studio Ghibli Film) (HBO MAX): I don’t think I have seen this movie before. It was good but something was missing. A classic or so I hear. I liked the steampunk setting. I loved the main characters’ relationship. I wanted more lore like with the flying city. The ending could have been better. I felt like the ending just abruptly ended and I wanted to see where everyone ended up. Also, why did the kids not stay with the pirates. I loved the fantasy of the movie. If you want to hear more of my thoughts about this movie and the other Studio Ghibli movies in this blogpost, you can go to the podcast and listen to the latest Studio Ghibli review episode.

RATING: 8/10

Grave of the Fireflies (Studio Ghibli Film) (NETFLIX): This was an Impactful/had an important story & message. The animation was beautiful. As an adult watching this, I didn’t agree with the choices the male lead made. Sister was annoying. IT IS JUST SO DEPRESSING! I did appreciate you knew the ending at the beginning. I would NOT recommend this movie for someone to watch. If you want to hear more of my thoughts about this movie and the other Studio Ghibli movies in this blogpost, you can go to the podcast and listen to the latest Studio Ghibli review episode.

RATING: 5/10

My Neighbor Totoro (Studio Ghibli Film) (HBO MAX): A cute & fun movie. It is definitely geared for kids. I didn’t like it as much watching it as an adult. It seemed too young for me. The movie has beautiful animation. I loved the magic. I loved the subtle messages about deeper topics like a sick parent. It was definitely fun to rewatch. If you want to hear more of my thoughts about this movie and the other Studio Ghibli movies in this blogpost, you can go to the podcast and listen to the latest Studio Ghibli review episode.

RATING: 8.5/10

Kiki's Delivery Service (Studio Ghibli Film) (HBO MAX):

I am VERY bias with this review because this was my first Studio Ghibli movie ever. I have a tattoo of this movie. I love the coming-of-age story. I love the magic. I had tiny issues with this. I love the messages of self-confidence. I loved revisiting this. If you want to hear more of my thoughts about this movie and the other Studio Ghibli movies in this blogpost, you can go to the podcast and listen to the latest Studio Ghibli review episode.

RATING: 10/10 (very bias)

NEW JUNE 2025 DRAMAS I AM EXCITED FOR

I can't believe it is about to be June 2025. I can't believe we are getting into the 6th month of the year. I am hoping I will get a lot of dramas off my plate in June and then FINALLY be able to pick up some airing Kdramas again. Or at least watch some of Kdramas that I said I was going to watch and then have not checked out yet. I wonder what kind of Cdramas will air in June because I have seen a lot of rumors. No cdramas in this blogpost today because I don't talk about rumors. I also don't have as many dramas I need to watch in June as I did in May for the podcast, but I still have a couple I need to complete.

Mercy For None (Kdrama) (NETFLIX) [PREMIERES JUNE 6, 2025]

SO JI SUB IS FINALLY COMING BACK!! It has been AT LEAST 3 years since we have seen him in a drama AND THIS ONE LOOKS SO GOOD! It also looks like a drama that fits him perfectly. I love a good revenge drama. The supporting cast of this drama also looks stacked which always makes me happy to see. Mercy for None is about an ex-gangster. He finds out that his brother is dead, he goes back into the gangster life to find out the truth about his brother's death and also get his revenge. When the trailer dropped for this, that just got me even more excited for it.

Salon De Holmes (Kdrama) [PREMIERES JUNE 16, 2025]

Ok, this Kdrama was NOWHERE on my radar until last week. A trailer came out of nowhere and it looks SO FUN! Any Kdrama with the name Holmes in it, YOU IMMEDIATELY GOT MY ATTENTION! This drama is about 4 housewives who feel isolated and are overwhelmed with life, housework. They end up solving cases by listening to the stories of the victims who also feel like they have been overlooked and ignored by the people who should be paying attention. Again, a drama that just came out of nowhere. I love a good amateur detective drama. It also sounds like this drama is going to be a women centered drama which we always like.

Hunter with a Scalpel (Kdrama) (rumored for Disney +/HULU) [PREMIERES JUNE 16, 2025]

I know I have discussed this drama at least one. AGAIN, DISNEY+/HULU KILLING IT WITH THE DARK CRIME DRAMAS! I pretty much know at this point that I will never cancel that streaming service if it keeps releasing Kdramas like this. THE POSTER LOOKS SO CREEPY! This drama sort of gives me Flower of Evil or Come and Hug Me Vibes. Park Ju Hyun plays a prominent forensic investigator who had a possible serial killer father. While doing an autopsy, she discovers evidence that might link her father to the crime. So, now she has to hunt down her father while not revealing her past to her coworkers. THAT JUST SOUNDS INTENSE AND I AM HERE FOR IT!

Squid Game Season 3 (Kdrama) (NETFLIX) [PREMIERES JUNE 27, 2025]

I obviously don't think this Kdrama needs introduction. We are getting the conclusion of Squid Game in June. Season 3 basically picks up where Season 2 left off, apparently. I STILL NEED TO WATCH SEASON 2! At this point, I also just saved Season 2 to watch right before Season 3 at this point. I am excited to finally watch Season 2 and then roll right into Season 3 and see how this drama ends. I AM STILL SO SURPRISED I HAVE NOT BEEN SPOILED ON SEASON 2 AT THIS POINT! I know I need to get my butt in gear and actually watch Season 2 and Season 3, or I will get spoiled eventually.
