MY WATCHLIST - APRIL 2025

April has become my "get dramas off my current watchlist" and rewatch month. I currently have completed 5 movies, 3 anime and 1 drama so far in April. I had all of the anime and the 1 drama on my current watchlist. I hope to complete at least another anime and 2 more dramas in April before the month ends. April will BY FAR be my best month for completing dramas so far in 2025. I am very happy that April is another month where I am not stuck doom scrolling and have been able to watch things. Podcast recording has kicked into HIGH-GEAR and there is no slowing down in May either.

That being said, I have had to concentrate on certain dramas and anime to get them off my current watchlist so, I am not watching a lot of on-air dramas, and I am behind on pretty much everything I am watching except for 2 things. I think I have just had to accept that I will be behind on a lot of things for a while because of how busy the podcasting will be getting. I will have to prioritize those dramas for at least the next month and a half or so. I do hope I can overall my watchlist in May. Hopefully, I can still clear stuff off of my current watchlist and add in some new things. For some reason, I know I am watching a fair number of things but also feel like I am watching nothing AT THE SAME TIME! Always a long list of dramas I want to watch and not enough time.

KDRAMAS

Buried Hearts - This Kdrama is STILL by far one of my favorite things I am watching right now. I can't believe it is ending in about a week or so. I am SO CURIOUS about how this drama is going to end. I really hope -I am PRAYING - that it sticks the landing. If it sticks the landing, I am POSITIVE that this will be one of my favorite dramas of 2025 for sure. I am VERY behind on this drama, but I am okay with that because I am loving it so much. Park Hyung Sik is KILLING this role. As I said last month, probably my favorite role of his to date.

The Art of Negotiation - I have not made any more progress on this drama because I was watching other dramas to get them off my current watchlist. I am still interested in watching it though. As I said last month, Lee Je Hoon's character intrigues me and I want to know more about him. I am probably going to watch this drama slowly. Maybe an episode a day or something. This drama doesn't seem to me to be a drama I can binge - not that I could binge a drama usually anyway. I was right that every episode is written as if it were a procedural crime drama where the team is given a problem or a crisis that they have to solve by the end of the episode. The jury is still out if I don't like the intern or not. It is very apparent that the production did A TON of research into the profession of M&A for this plot and script. I think this will turn out to be a solid drama if you like this sort of thing, but I have to watch more to decide that.

Connection (rewatch) - I have watched the first episode and yes, it is a rewatch. If you remember correctly, this was one of my top Kdramas of 2024. It is definitely one of my favorite crime Kdramas I have seen in a LONG TIME! It is also my favorite Ji Sung role to date that I have seen. His acting in this crime Kdrama was PHENOMENAL! I am re-watching this drama for a podcast episode. I hope I love it just as much as I did in 2024. I hope it wasn't just a fluke. I hope I catch more things, and I appreciate this drama even more than I did in 2024. I am excited to talk about this drama with somebody on a podcast episode. It is such a unique topic to address in a crime Kdrama - a cop that is forcefully addicted to drugs. GOD! I REMEMBER HOW MUCH ANXIETY THIS DRAMA GAVE ME!

KVARIETY

Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Reboot - I am watching this slowly. I am not caught up, but I definitely have watched more episodes. I still love this show as much as I did with the original. I am having so much fun watching this show. Right now, there is still 24 episodes planned for this show so, we will have to see if that increases again in the future. JHope was on a recent episode which was fun. I am just really curious who else is going to be on this show. I hear Dex is supposed to be on the show. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE DEX IN AN EPISODE! I have loved him since I watched him on Zombieverse. I also hear that Lee Da Hee is supposed to be on a future episode as well. I just love seeing what was in everyone's fridges and seeing what the chefs would do with the food that they find in the fridges.

CDRAMAS

Scarlet Heart - I have not made much more progress with this cdrama. I have to finish it in about 2 weeks though. I need to get my butt in gear and watch it. I do like what I have watched so far though. I still can't get over that this has comedy in it, at least in the first episodes, that I have watched. I just was not expecting it at all. I am FULLY expecting it to get tragic at some point thought. Fully knowing what Moon Lovers did by the end of the drama. Also, the female lead keeps hinting that there is tragedy coming because she knows what happens to everyone because they were real historical figures so, she knows from her history books/classes how they all died and what their lives were like. I do like the chemistry with who I am thinking is the equivalent of Lee Joon Gi's character in this cdrama version - even if there is a HUGE age gap. I am excited to watch more and see what happens.

Love like the Galaxy (rewatch) - Another rewatch that I have started today. I am going to watch this one slowly as well. Maybe like an episode a day or so. I am rewatching this cdrama for another podcast recording. I remember from when I first watched this drama that I liked the second half of this drama more than the first half. Mainly because the first half had a lot more comedy in it than I would have liked. I also though the female lead's mother was so bad for most of the drama. We all know I LOVED Wu Lei in this so, I am excited to revisit his character and his story in this drama. I do love the emperor in this drama as well. His character is fantastic!

ANIME

My Happy Marriage Season 2 - This is the only anime that I started in January that I have not finished yet. I am hoping I can finish it before April ends. Or I hope I can finish it before My May Current Watchlist blogpost. What I Usually do is I turn on anime episodes when I don't have enough time to watch a fill drama episode like if it is midnight, but I am not tired yet so, I watch a couple of anime episodes instead. So, with that strategy, I think I can knock the rest of this anime out by the end of April and get it off my current watchlist.
