August is a very interesting month for my watchlist. I am watching a HUGE variety of dramas but a lot of different countries. I think I am also watching the lowest number of Kdramas right now than I have watched in a while. I will say this again, I AM SO GLAD THAT I AM OUT OF MY DRAMA SLUMP! I think it helped that I looked at other countries other than South Korea. That always seem to work for me when I am in a drama slump. Now, I will say a lot of these dramas I have only watched the first episode so, I am not far in most of what I am watching.
I still am in support of the strike that is going on against certain streaming platforms. All of the dramas I am currently watching are not on those struck streaming sites. So, you are getting all the dramas I am watching and my opinions on these dramas in this August blog post. STREAMING SITES - PAY EVERYONE THEIR FAIR SHARE ALREADY!!!

KDRAMAS
My Lovely Liar (*ADDICTED*) - This Kdrama has been a pleasant surprise for me. I honestly don't know why I am so surprised that I like it though. I always like a little crime/murder mixed into my romance. I also like supernatural and/or fantasy mixed in with my romance. My Lovely Liar has all of this. The one thing I don't like is the second female lead. She has done some horrible things to the male lead and we are only on episode 4. ESPECIALLY WHAT SHE PULLED IN EPISODE 4 - I am not spoiling anything but trigger warning on suicide. I am just not a fan of her character and I know she and the second male lead are going to end up together which I am NOT happy about.
Jun & Jun - Ki Hyun Woo who is playing Choi Jun has so much charisma in this BL Kdrama! I have to laugh that Lee Jun has at least 3 of the other males in this drama chasing after him and he doesn't know it. 😂 I love that Choi Jun knows what he wants and is very forward in his feelings. I might save up a few episodes and just binge them all at once. I will say the relationship is moving a little slow for me. Maybe I am just impatient.
The Witch's Game - WE ARE FINALLY GEARING UP TO THE REVENGE ARCH AND I AM HERE FOR IT! I still have a ways to go so, I won't see any satisfying revenge yet BUT WE ARE TURNING A CORNER! There are so many characters in this drama that deserve what is coming to them. I am still watching this slowly but that is okay with me. I am sure I will finish it before 2024 gets here.
CDRAMAS
Return The World To You - I am participating in a 2023 challenge where I take dramas off of my on-hold list and either complete the drama or drop them. Return the World to You is one of the dramas that I have been on hold for a while. I am still rewatching the episodes I have already watched before I put it on hold. I think I had watched the first 5 or 6 episodes before putting on hold. So, I want to watch at least the first 5 to 6 episodes to decide if I will continue or drop it.
Forever And Ever - I watched One and Only back in 2021 and I still have not watched Forever and Ever. I think it is ABOUT TIME I watch this drama. I love both of the lead actors in this drama and One and Only is one of my favorite cdramas ever. I think I will like Forever and Ever a lot. I have only watched the first episode and I liked it so far.
Butterflied Lover - I have seen this mini cdrama all over my social media. What is great is the episodes are quite short so, I can finish this one quickly. A lot of people on my timeline has raved about the cinematography of this drama and I can see why. I, again, have only watched the first episode so, I am excited to watch more of it.
JDRAMAS
Don't Call It Mystery - This Jdrama has been on my list to watch FOREVER! I love crime dramas that have geniuses. Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite fictional detectives so, whenever there is a genius in a crime drama, I tend to love it. Jdramas also seem to have a lot of dramas that are based off of Sherlock Holmes so, I am always glad when I have access to these dramas. I always say this but Jdramas just hit differently. I have only watched like an episode and a half of this drama but I already love it. I love all the twists it already had with the first case. I love the group of cops that will work with our main detective. I am curious to learn about the main detective and his backstory.
TDRAMAS
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble - YES! I am finally watching this tdrama. People might be surprised that I still have not watched this drama. This drama is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! I loved the first episode and I am so glad I am finally watching this drama. The special effects of this drama are something else. I am excited to watch more because I know this drama will be a unique watch but will talk about some serious topics which I always like. This drama had quite the impactful start.
THAI DRAMAS
Enigma - I honestly didn't know if I would enjoy this drama. I am not the biggest fan of horror and Enigma definitely has the theme of horror. Asian dramas also do horror differently and it could be VERY SCARY! I only watched the first episode but MAN I LOVE IT SO FAR! It did have some really creepy and unsettling scenes. The sort of scenes that just make you uneasy. The leads have AWESOME chemistry so, I am excited to see if they have any type of romantic relationship or if it is just a working relationship. It is great that this drama is only 4 episodes as well. Honestly, I have no idea if they can tell the entire story in 4 episodes though. Will this drama have a second season?
To Sir With Love - Another drama that has been on my list forever since I finished watching the Thai Drama The Love Proposal with Jam in it. Also, because these two leads are currently starring in the airing Thai drama Laws of Attraction which is also on my plan to watch list. I decided to watch this drama first though. I have been seeing clips from Laws of Attraction and To Sir With Love. even from the clips, I know these two leads have CRAZY chemistry. I hope this drama doesn't have a sad ending because I could see it having a sad ending due to the time period. I also love that it is sort of a lakorn as well which I LOVE lakorns and the crazy that goes with them.
That wraps up my list of what I am currently watching in August 2023. I started a BUNCH of new dramas and I have a couple of dramas that are wrapping up. I am sure I am going to be watching a couple of these dramas for a while because they are longer, unless I drop them. Am I watching too many dramas at once though? 🤔 I definitely said I was going to add new dramas if I got caught up with airing dramas and for the most part I am caught up.
