The first "MY WATCHLIST" post of 2026. I like that it is a new year because it is a new start. LET ME TELL YOU - 2026 has been a GREAT start when it comes to drama watching for me. I have gotten some dramas off of my current watchlist from December with plans to get even more off of it by the end of the month. I have also added a bunch of new dramas to my current watchlist. I am excited about what I am watching, and I am excited to talk about it as well.
I am going to switch it up a bit this month for the "MY WATCHLIST" blogpost for January. I usually talk about Korean dramas and variety shows first but I am not watching much of those right now. So, I am going to talk about the Chinese dramas I am watching first and then dive into everything else on my current watchlist.

CDRAMAS
Blossom - I FINALLY clicked play on this cdrama. I have watched the first episode and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The first episode was full of action and beautiful cinematography. I can see why a lot of people love this drama. The Male lead and his gray hair is EVERYTHING! I am curious why he has gray hair. The main couple have great chemistry. I already have people from the first episode that I know it will be satisfying to watch get revenge on them. I love that both leads are strong characters and smart. SPOILER ALERT! I was not anticipating at the end of the first ep for the time travel to go ALL the way back to their childhood so that was unexpected. I am very excited to see how the main leads will meet up again and how they change their fate. I am definitely clicking play on more episodes. WHERE HAVE I BEEN!? I should have watched this like a year ago.
Coroner's Diary - I have not watched more of this because I was working on getting some jdramas off my current watchlist. I do plan to work on getting this off my current watchlist next. I need to complete it by the end of January or early February. I am excited to dive back into this cdrama and really immerse myself back into the story. I have liked what I have watched so far.
Love Between Lines - I checked out the first episode of this cdrama. I LOVE the video game world and the look of it. The cinematography is really pretty within the game. The ML sure knows how to make an entrance! I already dislike the FL’s ex. I am sure we are going to meet him again at some point in the drama. Both the male lead and female lead look great in republican era costume. I love the female lead's parents. The first episode had some nice twists especially with the male lead's character within the game. I assumed he was just a straightforward NPC. I like the chemistry between the leads. The female lead clearly has a beef with the male lead by the end of ep 1 so, I am excited to see their banter in future episodes. I am curious if there is a distinguishable difference with their relationship in game & outside of it. The comedy was good for me so far as well.
The Mirage - This cdrama just airdropped in late December and it looked unique so, I clicked play. I have watched the first episode so far. It definitely had a lower budget compared to other cdramas with many unknown or fairly unknown actors in it. That isn't a bad thing though. It has an intriguing setup with mystery. If I don’t take this drama too seriously, I will like it. I am curious how all the leads start working together. It has had some nice surprises so far. The opening scene was very unexpected and quite surprising. I don’t like the brother - a bit of an airhead. I can’t tell if this will be more sci-fi or fantasy yet. Either way, I think the genre will be quite unique and I am curious to check out more
The Vendetta of An - I am going to LOVE this cdrama. Cheng Yi doing the revenge genre is my favorite. His facial expressions going from docile to revenge in a split second is brilliant. This will be a fast-paced drama for sure since it is only 28 episodes. It has lots of great veteran actors in the cast. There has got to be hidden enemies within Chang An and the palace that Cheng Yi will have to discover and reveal which will be fun to watch. It is a nice change of pace that the main character doesn’t want to redeem their family’s reputation and honor. No, he just wants revenge. It has beautiful cinematography so far. I love that Cheng Yi’s character seems to be a strategist and smart. I will love watching him gain allies and see who supports him. Since it is a Cheng Yi drama, I will not be surprised if he dies at the end 🤣 (no spoilers please).

KDRAMAS
A Graceful Liar - This is still the only kdrama I am watching even though I plan to click play on at least 1 other Kdrama in the near future. I am going to be watching this probably for the entirety of 2026 because it is one of those long daily revenge Kdramas. It is ending in February, but I am nowhere near being done with it. I need to pick it back up and watch more episodes because it definitely fell to the wayside as 2025 was coming to an end.

KVARIETY
Culinary Class Wars Season 2 - I know I should not have started this other food Korean Variety show when I am already slowly watching Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Season 2 slowly BUT I COULD NOT HELP IT! This BY FAR is my favorite food competition show coming out of Korea. GOD! I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH! I can already tell I am going to be just as obsessed with this season as I was with Season 1. I was so surprised by the twist but also, they have to do something to ramp up the stakes in Season 2. Definitely don’t watch this show hungry. I already cried and I already have a favorite 🤣. One thing I will say, I wish the Black spoons had more regular people in them - a lot seem to be famous within their own right and that is different than season 1. I like cheering for underdogs when they are actual underdogs.
Please Take Care of Your Refrigerator Season 2 - I need to dedicate a day a week to when I only watch this show and my daily kdrama or I am never going to finish this show or at least make progress on it. 😂 I continue to watch this Korean Variety show slowly. I watch episodes here and there. I still love this show. I am excited to see what chefs from Culinary Class Wars Season 2 come onto the show. I think this will just be an ongoing show that will forever be on mu current watchlist since the show keeps releasing new episodes. I do need to catch up to the new episodes though because I am very behind. Hence the dedicated 1 day a week idea.

JDRAMAS
I have managed to get some of jdramas off my current watchlist which I started in a frenzy in December off my current watchlist so far in January. I still have 2 that I plan to complete by the end of January and hopefully I can do that.
Learning to Love - I am still very early in this jdrama. I have only watch 1 more episode after the first initial episode. The female lead has grown on me, but I think it will still take a few episodes for me to truly like her. She is still very prickly to me. She definitely deserves better than her fiancé though. I am still more intrigued by the male lead and his backstory. We learn more about him and his current life in episode 2 but the drama is definitely pulling back the layers of his character slowly. I love the scenes where she ends up teaching him though. Those scenes are where they both truly shine.
Unnatural - I LOVE THIS JDRAMA! I have watched a couple more episodes and I can see why a lot of people have liked it. I am so curious the cdrama remake will compare to this version. I am not going to reveal spoilers and not to toot my own horn, but I was right about the newbie coroner played by Kubota Masataka. There is a reason why his character seemed off to me and why he seemed to not be a good coroner. His character is shady for sure so, I am curious how that will all play out in future episodes.
