MY WATCHLIST - SEPTEMBER 2025

I feel like I haven't done a "MY WATCHLIST" post in MONTHS, but my last one was in June. It still has been a couple of months and most of the summer where I have not updated you on what I am currently watching. So, I am happy I am back today. As you will see from this blog post, I AM WATCHING A LOT! Some I should have finished a long time ago. A lot I have added recently. In October I hope to concentrate on the 2 dramas that have been on my watchlist for months and get some off. Or maybe I will watch 1 and then use November to get the other off my current watchlist. Whatever the plan is, they will be complete by the end of 2025.
KDRAMAS
Queen Mantis - This Kdrama started yesterday. It is one of the Kdramas I have been looking forward to since it was announced at the beginning of 2025. I AM SO HAPPY THAT IT IS HERE! My boy, Jang Dong Yoon is in it so, I am excited to see his performance. Go Hyun Jung I already knew is a great actress but MAN SHE IS ALREADY KILLING THIS PERFORMANCE IN EPISODE 1! She is creepy and scary just like she should be. I am really curious where this story is going to go because Jang Dong Yoon's character absolutely LOATHES his mother and I don't see that changing. I also don't trust his mother's motives.
Good Boy - This Kdrama has been on the back burner for a bit, but I am back to watching it. I am now halfway through the drama. I definitely plan on completing it in September. There is definitely some Ktrauma involved in this story which I was not anticipating. Hopefully the Ktrauma isn't a part of the ending, but I wasn't anticipating it. It is still HILARIOUS at times, and I have laughed a lot. I love the found family with the cop team. Lee Sang Yi is still killing me every episode. Park Bo Gum's acting in this is top tier! Probably my favorite role of his for sure.
KVARIETY
Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Season 2 - I am still slowly watching this, but I need to make more of an effort to watch it. I probably will still be watching this at the end of 2025 and maybe into 2026. I am ok with that because I am enjoying this series so much. I am so glad it is back.
CDRAMAS
Medical Examiner Dr. Qin: The Mind Reader - I watched the first episode of this new series. I definitely like the chemistry better in this series than I did with Medical Examiner Dr. Qin: The Survivor. This is a prequel which will be an interesting take on the series. I also LOVE the cast. There is definitely still friction between the main trio, but I can already tell it has potential to become a found family. I am curious to see where this prequel goes and where the trio goes.
Mysterious Lotus Casebook - I started this recently because I need to watch it for an upcoming Drama Trio Review episode. I knew I would love this cdrama so, it is no surprise that I LOVE THIS CDRAMA so far. This set up for a drama is right up my alley. We got a trio of people or a group of people who are going around historical/wuxia/xianxia world handing weird cases. I really need to make a list of these cdramas and watch all of them because a lot of them are on my plan to watch list anyway. This cdrama opens with an EPIC fight scene which really set the bar high. I love Cheng Yi's character. He is probably my favorite so far. I love how observant, clever and smart his character is. Joseph Zeng's character compliments him well. He is funny and has a good dynamic with Cheng Yi's character. You can tell he is very loyal. I am excited to watch more and review it in a podcast episode.
Lover or Stranger - This is a cdrama that has been put on the back burner a bit while I watch other dramas. I am not dropping it because I am very intrigued on where it is going to go. I just love the setup of this cdrama. I am curious about the chemistry of the 2 leads and where their story/mystery is going to go. I am planning to finish this by the end of 2025. That is the goal.
Love in Pavilion - I have not made any more progress on this cdrama because other dramas have taken priority due to podcasts. I still am loving what I have watched so far. I am not far into it, but I plan to watch more. I just need to make more progress on it. I love a good Xianxia Cdrama so, I am excited to dive back into this one. Â I am planning to finish this by the end of 2025. That is the goal.
Coroner's Diary - This is a cdrama that I have looked forward to for a long time. I LOVE Landy Li so, I was excited to watch her in this role. I have heard that this cdrama is sort of a sleeper hit in 2025 so, I am excited to experience it for myself. I will not be surprised if I love this cdrama. I loved the first episode of this cdrama. I already love the second female lead Princess Yongning. I hope she gets a second lead romance because I already love her character. I think this is my first drama with Ao Rui Peng. I already love his chemistry with Landy Li. I love a good historical mystery.
JDRAMAS
I needed some romance in my life so, I started some romance Jdramas in the last week.
Our Dining Table - I have been wanting to watch this Japanese BL jdrama for a long time and I noticed it was uploaded to Youtube. I decided to click play on it immediately just in case it was taken down. I binged the first 3 episodes and I LOVED IT! WE LOVE A GOOD FOODIE DRAMA WITH A HINT OF ROMANCE! I can tell that this will be a healing drama, and I already love the potential romance that is going to happen. This kid is cute as well.
Usotoki Rhetoric - To no one's surprise, I clicked play on this jdrama. A lot of people have watched this Jdrama already this year and now it is my turn. I watched the first episode of this Jdrama and I can see why a lot of people loved it. This has a lot of things I like in a drama. It has a found family aspect. It has a quirky girl with an equally quirky guy. It is a mystery jdrama. I can see a potential romance happening eventually. I already love the messaging as well. This one will be good. I don't think I have ever watched a historical jdrama before.
A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You - Now that VIKI has all of the episodes out, I also clicked play on this jdrama as well. I wasn't expecting how funny the two leads are. I love their personalities and how awkward they are. I don't know if I have ever watched a historical jdrama before. I am looking forward to seeing how their romance blossoms.
ANIME
Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 - I am almost done with season 1. Season 2 ends at the end of September so, I plan to just role right into Season 2 once I am done with Season 2. I love the found family in this. I also am loving the comedy which I was not expecting with this. The fight scenes ARE SO GOOD! I am so glad that I found out about this anime and clicked play.
