I always love the beginning of a new year because I get to look at all the rumored or confirmed upcoming dramas for the new year and get excited about them. Now, I am going to be doing these blogposts a little different in 2024. I am going to be making 3 blogposts. This one is for all the Korean dramas I am excited for in 2024. Another blogpost will be for all of the Chinese dramas I am excited for. Lastly, I will be doing a blogpost next week to cover all of the other Asian countries. These lists just have been getting longer and longer each year to only have 1 blogpost for Korean dramas and 1 blogpost for the rest of the countries. I also will be starting in February 2024 for this blogpost because I have already listed the January Kdramas that I plan to watch and that I am excited for in my December 2023 Wrap Up blogpost which you can read here.
ANYWAY, LET'S GET STARTED!
Just a quick note, I have no idea if all of these dramas will air in 2023. I will put them on this list because it is rumored, they will air in 2023. I will include premiere dates if I know them, but these are subject to change. I will also include posters if they have released posters already. we will see what happens. This list is in no particular order. There are a lot of them that I have heard about and that are rumored for 2024. So, just know that even though my blogpost is long, there are even more that I have not mentioned.
PREMIERE DATE: February 5th, 2024
There are two reasons why I am excited for this drama. I know it is a little out of my norm, the fact that I am excited for a romance drama. Right now, there is no trailer for this one so, if I watch the trailer and the trailer doesn't work for me, this drama might be taken off this list. We will see. First reason why I am looking forward to this drama is that I like the male lead Lomon and I have not seen him in a drama in a couple of years. Second reason is I am a SUCKER for a good old office romance drama. AND THEN YOU ADD OF THE FACT THAT IT PROBABLY A NOONA ROMANCE! I am sold. Those 2 tropes will always get me to check out a romance.

Two things sold me on this drama. The cast looks solid and I know they are all great actors so I am excited to see them work together. The second thing that sold me was the synopsis. At first you start reading it and it seems to be a straight forward cat and mouse game between a cop and a killer BUT THEN the synopsis added 2 things. One is the victim was a serial killer which was an interesting twist to come across. Second was that drama added in a supernatural element. The male lead can sense bad people which is why this serial killer ended up dead. I read that and immediately thought I HAD TO WATCH THIS!

If you have not watched Season 1 of Player and you like a more comedic crime drama - GO WATCH IT! It is a lot of fun. I remember when Season 2 was announced and I thought wow, now there is a kdrama that I never pictured getting a season 2. I hope it keeps the same vibe and comedy it had in Season 1. I know not all of the original cast is coming back for Season 2 so, I am curious to see how the new additions work out.

I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS A THING! This apparently is an adaption of a really famous Japanese anime/live adaption/manga. All three are quite good I hear but I have only seen the anime. I have no idea how this will work out. It makes sense that it is NETFLIX making it though. It is a really weird story about alien parasites coming to earth and taking over the human race. I liked the anime but I don't know how the story will be good in the context of a kdrama. They also gender swapped the lead from a male to a female. I am just very cautious about this one because the original is just so good.

I saw a preview of this during one of the award shows and immediately put it on my plan to watch list. The first reason is that Lee Je Hoon stars in it. He just seems to fit in perfectly in this drama and role so, I am excited to watch him in this drama. This drama is also a crime drama so, of course after watching the trailer it went on my plan to watch list. It just seems like the type of crime drama I will love.

My main reason of putting this drama on my anticipated kdramas list for 2024 is the actress Kim Nam Joo. She is an AMAZING actress and she hasn't done a drama in over 5 years. She doesn't do dramas that often. This drama has the potential of being a Noona romance which I am always down for. It looks like an intense, could be a little makjang wild ride of a thriller drama. It just seems to have a lot in it that piques my interest. Now, could it all fall apart when it starts - yes BUT I watched the trailer for it at one of swards shows and the trailer definitely drew me in. This drama is already rumored for Disney Plus so, I will have to wait and see if I will even have access to it.

I read the synopsis for this K drama and immediately thought of The Mystic Popup Bar. I LOVED that kdrama and this is giving the same vibes just off of the synopsis. So, I have HIGH HOPES for this one. The cast also looks great. I never pictured Joo Won and Kwon Na Ra together as a couple in a drama but now I am curious to see their chemistry and what they do with this story.

This is another Kdrama that had its trailer revealed during an end of the year awards show. It was not on my radar before I saw it at the awards show. I LOVE THE CAST! I am super curious about this synopsis because the female lead is married to a man and then they both work with a cop. This trio works together to solve a crime. I am super curious if there is going to be a love triangle or just married couple romance. It also looks like a dark and gritty crime drama which I always go for when I am looking for a new drama.

I don't even remember when Netflix confirmed this but now, we are just months away There is no confirmed premiere but it is rumored now for March. I LOVED Season 1 of this Kdrama so, I can't wait for Season 2. I think almost all of the original cast is confirmed to come back too.

I know a lot of people are looking forward to this Kdrama. A lot of people have been added to the cast. I just hope it lives up to the hype. I hope we have more games that are both interesting and terrifying. I hope we connect with some of the characters as much as we did in Season 1. I am just super curious how Season 2 will do and what the story will be.

I have not watched Season 2 yet but We know that when the cast filmed Season 2, they also filmed Season 3. Song Kang also said that this was going to be his last drama before the military. Now, I just need to find the time to watch Season 2 so, I am ready to watch Season 3. I have heard mixed reactions about Season 2 so, I am curious how I will feel about. Will people even watch Season 3 at this point?
PREMIERE DATE:Â 2024 I DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS THING! I knew that Han Seok Kyu and Jung Yu Mi were doing a drama together. I didn't know it was a remake of the Chinese Drama The Long Night. The Long Night is one the best Chinese crime dramas out there. This Kdrama remake also is coming in 2 seasons apparently. Now, I need to watch the cdrama which has been on my list to watch FOR YEARS before this drama comes out.

The only reason this is on my radar at all if that it is supposed to be a romance between a Japanese man and a Korean woman. You just don't see that combo ever in a Kdrama. I am super curious what the chemistry will be. I am super curious to see how it is accepted and what the ratings will be. I am just super curious if this drama will work out and what the story will be.

I feel like we have been waiting YEARS for this Kdrama even though that is now the case. We all know I love Lee Min Ho, so, that is why this drama is on my radar. It is usually not a drama I go for especially since it is supposed to be a romantic comedy. That just throws me off because I can't picture a romantic comedy that take space on a space station. It also has the potential to be a Noona romance since the leads have an age gap of almost 10 years. I don't know if that will play a role into the story but I always like a good Noona romance.

The cast is STACKED with this one. This one looks like it has the potential of being a tension filled, wild ride. It looks like it could be a psychological thriller. I feel like this is a drama where we will love some characters and hate other characters. So many survival Kdramas rumored for 2024.

Three reasons why I am excited for this Korean drama. One reason is that Jang Ki Yong is back from the military and this is his returning kdrama. Second reason is I am SUPER curious about the pairing of Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee together. It is unclear right now if they will be a romantic couple but I am curious to see their chemistry acting together nonetheless. Three is the synopsis sounds different and I like different.

Now, not much is known about this drama but the leads Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk presented at one of end of the year awards shows and they looked good together. As I said earlier in this blogpost, I AM A SUCKER FOR AN OFFICE ROMANCE! I love that the roles are reversed in this drama. Han Ji Min is the CEO and Lee Joon Hyuk will be the secretary. Lee Joon Hyuk's character also is apparently a single father which I am intrigued to see. I wonder how comedic will be but I just hope we have a nice romance filled with chemistry.

Speaking of Lee Joon Hyuk, we are apparently getting a spinoff of his character from Stranger in 2024. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SPINOFF! I love his character from Stranger. His character is so gray because he is both a good prosecutor but also is an opportunist and has a history of being corrupt. I am really curious what this spinoff will be and if we will get any cameos.

Another drama that was revealed at the end of the year award shows. This one looks like an action filled crime drama. It is a crime investigation thriller about a cop who works for the drug unit who ends up getting drugged mysterious himself. So, now he has to team up with a reporter and find these drug dealers and why he was drugged. Also has to figure out about this new drug that possibly is going around. I got this all from the awards show trailer. It looks like a thrill ride and I always love a good action Kdrama.

THE SECOND Lee Soo Hyuk was announced as the male lead for this drama I put it on my plan to watch list. I then read the synopsis and this sounds like an intriguing Kdrama. Then
Lee Da Hee joined as the female lead and I was EVEN MORE SOLD! Them paired together would be amazing. It is really unclear if there will be romance in this one. It is marked as a thriller/fantasy on MDL. I am just excited to see these two work together.

I have heard various dates for this. I have heard first 3rd of 2024 and I also heard last 3rd of 2024. I will just be happy if we get it in 2024. I LOVED SEASON 1! It was beautiful and probably one of my favorite things I watched in 2022. I am excited to get back into this story and learn more about this family. I have not read the book so; I have no idea what to expect. Season 1 was shot BEAUTIFULLY! I have high expectations for the cinematography and the acting.
