I posted some of my favorite Kdramas that premiered in the first half of 2021. You can check out that post here. NOW, let me list off some Kdramas that I am looking forward to in the second half of 2021. Right now, these dramas say they are airing by the end of the year but you know drama land, WE NEVER KNOW! Sometimes dramas get pushed back or the schedule gets moved around. At this moment, these dramas are supposed to air by the end of the year. WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS! This list is just a few that I am looking forward too. Some don't even have premiere dates, posters or teasers so I will be posting posters for some BUT NOT ALL! This list is also in no particular order. LET'S BE HONEST - there will be a lot on this list AND I PROBABLY AM NOT DONE YET! I just look forward TO EVERYTHING! 😂
MOST ANTICIPATED KDRAMAS FROM THE 2ND HALF OF 2021
SUPPOSED TO PREMIERE: August 2021
The concept for this crime drama FASCINATES ME! It might be the first of its kind but I don't know if that is actually true. This crime drama seems to be shot a lot through CCTV cameras. Giving the audience a perspective that you don't see a lot. Now this has made me curious and I want to know if it is actually true when the drama airs. If it ends up being true, I think I am going to enjoy this drama A LOT because it is just so unique to shoot a drama that way. This is also a crime drama SO OF COURSE I AM EXCITED FOR IT!
SUPPOSED TO PREMIERE: August, 2021
First and foremost, this seems to be a crime drama so I am in. I am hoping it is in the same lane as Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation. Police University seems to have a lot of comedy in it which Team Bulldog did as well. Team Bulldog is a very underrated crime Kdrama in my opinion so I recommend it for you to watch. Anyway, I hope Police University has the sort of comedy Team Bulldog did because I enjoyed that quite a bit. One of the main characters is also a hacker AND I AM A SUCKER FOR HACKERS IN DRAMAS!
SUPPOSED TO PREMIERE: August 2021
I have been excited for Lovers of the Red Sky since it was announced last year in 2020. I am a SUCKER for fantasy dramas so this one sounds RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! I am not quite sure how the fantasy fits into this drama but that makes me EVEN MORE curious about it. The concept of the story sounds heartbreaking, beautiful and fantastic so I am excited to see what it is all about if and when it airs. I am also a fan of Ahn Hyo Seop and Gong Myung so I am excited to see them both in a historical drama.

AS WE ALL KNOW, I need all the crazy drama in my life. DESIRE SOUNDS LIKE IT WILL GIVE IT TO ME IN SPADES!! The minute the synopsis said "romance thriller", I WAS SOLD! I can just see the revenge and cheating and drama that is about to unfold in this drama. I also like the cast quite a bit and curious to see who their characters will be and what they will be like in this drama.

Namgoong Min has been PROMOTING this drama SO MUCH on his IG. His photos of the behind the scenes of this drama alone makes me want to click play. It sounds dangerous and action packed. I am a little leery because it is a spy/action drama which doesn't always work out for me. Namgoong Min playing a spy though, maybe on a revenge streak in this drama. I NEED TO SEE THAT!! Namgoong Min plays slippery characters SO WELL so I can see me liking him A LOT in this drama.

The drama seems ALL OVER THE PLACE genre wise. Honestly, some of my favorite dramas for the past couple of years had this same concept. You didn't quite know what you were getting when you clicked play and were pleasantly surprised. I am hoping it is the same with this drama. I love a good life swap drama. This one seems to have comedy, romance, potential makjang, crime/mystery. JUST EVERYTHING! It just sounds like it could be potentially lots of fun to watch.

I don't know what it is with me and historicals this year. I usually have a HORRIBLE time liking or even wanting to watch Korean historical dramas. HERE I AM liking both historical dramas I have already watched and looking forward to like 6 more! 😂 Affection is one of them. A big thing that is attracting me to this drama is Rowoon. He has never done a historical before so I am curious to see him in one. I also like Nam Yoon Su a lot who also has never done a historical before. I am also curious about the tone this drama will take. Will it be the tragic historical type or more of a comedy? Will it be a mix of both?

There is only 1 sentence for the synopsis of this drama BUT IM ALREADY SOLD! "A melodrama about a woman who supports an affair not knowing it's her husband's mistress" is the sentence. THIS SCREAMS DRAMA AND MAKJANG! Naturally it is added to the list.

One phrase is my justification for looking forward to this drama: OCN. OCN has made some of my favorite Kdramas of all time so any time they have a new drama coming, I get excited. This also is a small-town murder/crime drama WHICH IS ALWAYS A PLUS TO ME! Also, THIS CAST LOOKS AMAZING! I am just so excited to watch this drama and I PRAY that it is good.

This is another historical Kdrama that I am looking forward too. One big reason is that it is Lee Junho's return to dramaland after getting out of the military. I don't think he has ever done a historical Korean drama (I could be wrong on that) before so I am curious what he will look like in historical costume. I also really like the female lead, Lee Se Young so I am curious what their chemistry will be like in this drama. It does sound like this drama might be a sad one FOR SURE! I will just have to bring the tissues.

This is another crime drama so, OF COURSE, I have my eyes on it. Lee Hong Nae joining the cast is also a plus in my book. This synopsis seems like it will be more of a comedy and a female lead cast. It sounds like it might be fun and nice change of pace because I will probably be watching a lot of heavy dramas about this time.

The minute Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon joined this cast, it peaked my interest. The synopsis sounds FASCINATING with this one. A drama that is all about national park rangers PLUS mystery. I love when kdramas portray unique occupations. Usually, you have a lot of kdramas in like an office building or cafe. I like that this one will be different. Since this is supposed to take place in a national park and nature, I AM SURE THE CINEMATOGRAPHY WILL BE GORGEOUS WITH THIS ONE!

I am a HUGE fan of the show Criminal Minds (American Show) so to have a Kdrama that is about profilers, I AM IN! The cast is this one is a plus for me too. I am a fan of a lot of actors/actresses both in lead and supporting roles for this drama. I hope this is just a DARK and SERIAL KILLER filled drama AND ILL BE A HAPPY DRAMA WATCHER! 😈

I was a HUGE fan of Secret Royal Inspector that aired earlier this year. If you have not seen that drama, you really should. Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi seems to be along the same vein as Secret Royal Inspector. If so, I am sure I am going to enjoy this one quite a bit. I like both Ok Taec Yeon and Kim Hye Yoon as actors so I am curious to see them pair up in this drama. Honestly, also, JUST GIVE ME ALL THE HISTORICAL MYSTERY DRAMAS AND I'LL WATCH THEM!

I am cautiously optimistic about this one. On one hand, you got a crime drama with a detective. Lee Dong Wook and N being in the cast is a plus because I love them both. The potential multiple personalities thing is intriguing to me. On the other hand, the word "Super Hero" throws me off. Now I loved The Uncanny Counter from earlier this year so this could work for me but I will just have to wait and see how this one is. I am hoping for a darker tone.

I am also looking forward to this one due to how much I loved Secret Royal Inspector from earlier this year. You sell me that your drama will be like that and I will watch it. There are a lot of good actors in this cast. I have always been a fan of Yoo Seung Ho so I am excited to see him again in a Historical. I have a new appreciation for Lee Hyeri after the wonderful drama My Roommate is a Gumiho so I am excited to see her again in another comedy. The plot sounds like an interesting one so I am excited to get more details and potentially watch it later this year.

Ever since this was announced, I HAVE NEEDED IT IN MY LIFE! I love a lot of the cast from their previous dramas. Just A LOT of talent in this drama. Zombies will also ALWAYS make me excited for your drama. I hope this drama actually airs in 2021 BUT WE WILL SEE!
