HOW IS IT THE END OF APRIL ALREADY!!? Where did this month go? 😲 I did finish a lot in the month of April when it came to dramas and movies. It was a very weird month for me. I also am not looking forward to much in May in terms of dramas and movies either. So, this might be a short post for me today. 🤣
DRAMAS/MOVIES I COMPLETED IN APRIL
As I said above, April did not go well for me. I was slow on watching dramas. I got distracted easily. I am now behind on PRACTICALLY everything I am watching right now. I did manage to finish a few things, just not as much as I would have liked. What did you finish in the month of April?
-Jinki Jangpan (Korean Variety) (Youtube): Anything with SHINee, I will always be a fan of. This variety show was no different. It was a delight seeing ONEW do all of these things and interact with other people/the camera. The episodes may have been short but it was very entertaining for me to watch. Now because I am a HUGE fan of SHINee and the members, I may be bias but I loved this quick variety show.
-Night in Paradise (Kmovie)(NETFLIX): The thing I loved the most from this movie was THE ACTING! THE ACTING WAS SUPERB IN THIS MOVIE! The story is pretty straight forward if you have watched any other Korean gangster movie. The Cinematography and colors of the movie also were fantastic and stood out to me. I enjoyed the movie but I doubt I will ever watch it again. Check out my full review for this movie - HERE.
-How to Be Thirty (Kdrama)(VIKI): DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS KDRAMA! It started out so well and I am a fan of the actors in it. It had mature and adult relationships in the beginning and then just spiraled into tropes. The story went nowhere and some of the characters were BARELY used. It could have been such a good mini drama with the setup but it just was a waste.
-Heaven Official's Blessing (Donghua)(NETFLIX): This was my first donghua (Chinese animation) ever. I liked it a lot. I didn't LOVE IT like many others but I am glad this was my first one that I chose to watch. Now, the bar is set HIGH which might be a bad thing🤣 It had beautiful animation and I loved all the characters. I will DEFINITELY watch season 2 when it comes out. -Navillera (Kdrama)(NETFLIX): I liked this drama a lot but I DEFINITELY didn't love it as much as other people did while it aired. I felt that one HUGE part of the plot was unnecessary and we already had a great foundation for the plot and then this unnecessary part got added in. For me, it just seemed very heavy handed and it didn't need to be there. I ALSO HATE CRYING and I cried with every episode of this drama! I loved the ballerino and grandfather's relationship. That was my favorite part. Oh, and the grandfathers desire to learn ballet - I liked that too.

I will also write why I dropped it, if I have a particular reason. Now if I have not dropped any dramas in the past month, then this section won't be there.

Lookout/The Guardians (Kdrama) - Something just was not clicking for me with this drama. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I liked a lot of the characters but the story just seemed off or slow to me. I know, it was crazy to say that the story was slow BUT HERE WE ARE!

I may not be looking forward to a lot in May BUT knowing me, that might change pretty quick. 🤣 Here is what is on my radar for May and why I am excited these dramas.
Bossam: Steal the Fate (KOREAN)(VIKI): [STARTS MAY 1st, 2021]
As you know from my previous posts, I have been oddly looking forward to this drama. SO, I AM VERY EXCITED THAT IT IS FINALLY HERE! I still have NO IDEA why I am looking forward to this drama because I usually am not this excited for historicals BUT HERE WE ARE! I REALLY hope I end up enjoying this one because you know dramas can ALWAYS surprise you.
Mine (KOREAN)(NETFLIX): [STARTS MAY 8th, 2021]
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS DRAMA!! I mean just look at the cast! I don't know much about the plot because not much have been given away BUT MAN THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE IT COULD HAVE LOTS OF DRAMA! You guys know how I feel about my makjang dramas SO I AM DEFINITELY watching this one.
Super Me (CHINESE MOVIE)(NETFLIX): [ON NETFLIX MAY 8TH, 2021]
I saw the trailer for this movie so it caught my eye. I love Darren Wang so I am checking this movie out when it comes to Netflix in May. I am ALWAYS up for a fantasy/sci-fi movie or drama so I think I am going to enjoy this one. I will DEFINITELY be writing a review of it so look for that in May OF COURSE!
Love Phantom (JAPANESE)(VIKI): [STARTS MAY 13TH, 2021]
I don't know much about this Japanese drama BUT I CAN ALWAYS USE A JDRAMA IN MY LIFE! For some reason (as I explained in my Why I like Jdramas post) I like romance Jdramas the most out of every other country I watch. This seems like it will be a sweet, straight forward romance drama. I could be wrong BUT I will check out the first episode FOR SURE!
Move to Heaven (KOREAN)(NETFLIX): [STARTS MAY 14th, 2021]
This drama probably will make me cry. Let's be honest - IT WILL MAKE ME CRY! Will I still be watching it? HELL, YEAH I WILL BE! Why you ask. I have 2 reasons. One is Lee Je Hoon. If he is in a drama, it is pretty much a given that I will at least be checking it out. Second reason is that it seems that it will have some comedy and also sadness. It may be a heartwarming story so I will just have to push through the tears.
My Roommate is a Gumiho (KOREAN)(iQIYI): [STARTS MAY 26th, 2021]
This drama I will be checking out at least. I hope it is NOT TOO tropey. I want a nice romcom but I can't handle too sweet of a romcom. I love Jang Ki Yang and a lot of the other cast members. So, I am hoping it is just a palate cleanser I will have fun with it. I always like a romance drama with a little magic/supernatural mixed in.
