MARCH 2023 WRAP UP

Anyone else feel like this past month has gone by SO QUICKLY but also was crawling at a snail's pace? No, just me - well that is how I thought March felt. Maybe I just feel like I am finally settling into my new place after moving half way across the country. I don't know BUT I AM GLAD SPRING IS HERE!

DRAMAS/MOVIES I COMPLETED IN MARCH

I finished quite a few dramas in March. I think partly because a bunch of the dramas were short. I did finish one drama that I have been "watching" since 2022. I now only have 2 dramas that are still on my current watchlist from 2022. One drama will be on it for a while still because it is a daily drama has a TON of episodes. The other drama, I hope to finish part 1 FINALLY in April but we will see what happens.

Island part 1 (Kdrama) (AMAZON PRIME): I am glad I waited for part 2 to be released before I watched Island. I might be in the minority here BUT I loved Island. I will say Part 1 is better than part 2, in my opinion. I loved the characters. I thought the acting was great. I loved the lore and the story. You can read my full review here.

Island part 2 (Kdrama) (AMAZON PRIME): I had a lot of fun with this drama. It isn't perfect though. I thought the drama underutilized some of its actors. Will we get a season 3? I don't know. I know I will watch a season 3 if there is one made. I thought some of the story threads were loosely tied together and barely made sense but hey at least there were no threads that were just left hanging. The drama still had great acting and fun CGI. I thought the drama was ambitious and unique. You can read my full review here.

The Longest Day in Chang'An (Cdrama) (VIKI): I really should have finished this drama in 2022 BUT I FINALLY DID IT! This was a visually STUNNING drama. It had a thrilling story that hooks you and I now know why so many people were telling me I would love this drama. I DID LOVE IT! I will say, you have to pay close attention to the drama. There are A LOT of characters and plot points to follow. I downrated the drama because I did not like how some characters' endings were. There is a second season being made so, I will be interested to see what happens in Season 2 and if the characters come back. You can read my full review here.

In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal (KDocumentary) (NETFLIX): If you are a fan of crime documentaries, you will love this one. I will warn you, there are MANY trigger warnings for this documentary and there are some parts that were hard to watch. It is somewhat graphic. It is fascinating to watch though and watch everything be revealed in these cases. You can read my full review here.

The Count of Monte Cristo (American Movie) (HULU): The Kdrama Oasis that I am currently watching had me thinking about The Count of Monte Cristo this month. It is one of my favorite stories and movies. So, I thought I would rewatch the 2002 version of the story which I had not seen IN YEARS! This movie still holds up and still one of my ALL-TIME favorite movies.

INFORMA (Jdrama) (NETFLIX): You know this is a crime drama SO, OF COURSE, I AM GOING TO WATCH IT! INFORMA is a solid crime Jdrama. I loved the two leads and their dynamic. I thought the actors did a great job acting. The camera work during the action scenes put the audience right in the action and I thought that was very fun. I did want more depth into some of the plot points and characters but this drama was only 10 episodes. Will we get a season 2? I don't know. I also thought the drama had some plot holes BUT I loved the theme of family throughout.

Our Dating Sim (Kdrama) (VIKI): This BL kdrama was a delight. If you are looking for a quick and sweet BL kdrama, this one is a good choice. The main couple has nice chemistry and lots of sweet moments. I do wish the story gave us a bit more depth into some plot points. You can read my final review here.

A Shoulder to Cry On (Kdrama) (VIKI): A quick and cute BL kdrama. Acting was great. OSTs were good. I loved how the relationship progressed especially with accountability. Wish the beginning was better. The drama did get better as it went on. The drama seemed a bit rushed. I wish more was done with the archer character

Kill Bok Soon (KMovie) (NETFLIX): This wasn't a bad movie but it could have been better. I thought the fight scenes were awesome. I wish there were more fight scenes honestly. The cinematography was beautiful. I loved the mother/daughter relationships portrayed in the movie. The acting was on point which doesn't surprise me. The cast was great in this movie. I did feel like the movie didn't use some of the cast to their fullest potential. I also thought this movie was about 30 minutes to long.

NEW APRIL 2023 DRAMAS I AM EXCITED FOR:

April has A LOT of dramas I am interested in. I APPARENTLY just don't care about how many dramas I am already watching and I am just going to add more on top of that. 😂 I probably will be overwhelmed in the month of April because I will be adding so many dramas to my watchlist. I CAN'T HELP IT! There are a lot of good-looking dramas coming out in April!

Decoy Season 2 (Kdrama): [PREMIERES ON APRIL 7TH, 2023]

I enjoyed Season 1 a lot so, I am looking for Season 2. I hope we get a fast paced and explosive conclusion to this drama. I know there will be no problem with the acting in this. I am curious how the story will end. I hope it keeps it dark tone as well. I am curious what other secrets will be revealed in Season 2. If you like crime dramas and haven't watched Season 1 of this drama, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pale Moon (Kdrama): [PREMIERES ON APRIL 10TH, 2023]

There are multiple reasons I am interested in Pale Moon. I hope we get it on a streaming site somewhere. One reason I am interested in this drama is that it is based off a Japanese novel. I am curious if this will give a different feel and story to a Korean drama. From the synopsis, this drama seems like it will be a combination of a thriller/crime drama and potentially some romance which I like this combination. I am a BIG fan of Kim Seo Hyung so, she is a MAJOR draw for me to this drama. The last reason is that it seems like there will be a Noona romance and maybe a cheating part of this story. Will that mean Makjang moments? MAYBE which means I plan to watch this because you know I love DRAMA in my dramas that I am watching.

Stealer: The Treasure Keeper (Kdrama): [PREMIERES APRIL 12TH, 2023]

This drama just looks fun. Plain and simple, this drama looks like it has potential to be an action filled fun ride. I am almost positive VIKI will probably be picking this up but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Queenmaker (Kdrama) (NETFLIX): [PREMIERES APRIL 14TH, 2023]

At first, I was not very interested in this drama. I am not big for political dramas. We will have to see if I will stick with this drama but I am planning on checking it out. Two things caught my attention after watching the trailers. One, this drama seems like it will have strong female leads and will be female centered. WE LOVE TO SEE THIS! Second, Ryu Soo Young seems to have a villain role in this drama AND I AM HERE FOR THAT! I loved his villain role in Love in Sadness and he acts villains SO WELL! If he is the villain in this drama - I WILL BE SO HAPPY!

Queen of the Mask (Kdrama) (VIKI): [PREMIERES APRIL 24TH, 2023]

This drama screams SOMETHING I will like. The synopsis has murder and revenge written in it. The cast seems like a great fit for this genre as well. The network is Channel A which I have liked all their dramas I have watched so far. This drama is telling me it will have a lot of makjang goodness with it AND I CAN'T WAIT!

Thin Ice (Cdrama): [RUMORED TO AIR APRIL 4TH, 2023]

This drama isn't confirmed for April 4th so, we will have to see if it happens. I want a good republican era drama. Do I have hopes for this drama? I don't know BUT I am curious about it. I have liked the posters that I have seen. I know I have talked about this drama before on this blog. I have not seen a trailer yet but if it is released on April 4th, I am sure there will be trailers released soon. I am also curious about this drama because of the cast. Let's see if it airs and what the drama does with the story.

Oh No! Here Comes Trouble (Tdrama) (iQIYI): [PREMIERES APRIL 15TH, 2023]

Ever since I watched a trailer for this drama, I Have kept my eye out for it. This drama looks like a lot of fun and something I would really enjoy watching. It has comedy and it is supernatural. I like a lot of the cast as well. We need more Taiwanese dramas to watch!

La Pluie (Thai Drama): [PREMIERES APRIL 29TH, 2023]

Give me all the supernatural or magical dramas this month. I don't know any of

the cast in this drama but I am excited for that. I always like discovering new talent. This synopsis reminds me of another Thai drama "Voice in the Rain" that I want to watch and I have not yet. I will always check out and watch LGBTQ+ content and dramas so, this one is definitely added to my plan to watch list.

That is my list for what I watched in March and what I am looking forward to in April, 2023. I am sure I have missed some dramas that are either not announced yet for April or I just didn't find.

What dramas did you start in March? Did you complete any dramas in March? Are you like me and are still watching some dramas you started in 2022? What did you like that you completed? What are you looking forward to in April for dramas? What about any movies? Anything I missed and need to add to my list? Is your list short or long? Are you adding more and more dramas like me currently?
